Im in Brazil and for now no shows announced here, so give me (and all other persons who are not attending a Moz gig)the pleasure of hearing it at least. all week went by, and i kept hearing stories of friend who went; friends who had friends who didn't dick out on them when they wanted to buy tickets, like my friend ditched me. so anyway, all week i've been saying "i am going friday". but i don't know if i always meant, or intended on going.

at the end of the day, i saw my friend carlise across from my locker in school- she's my best friends kind-of girlfriend, and i said hi, hoping that she'd give me a ride home. she did. we didn't go home. we went to the beach for a little bit, and then i asked her if she'd like to come with me tonight, to see morrissey. she said yes. imagine if she exited the room she was in last period from a different door? none of this would've happened.

i call my house; my father was mad i didn't call to say i was going anywhere, and even though nobody was home i became 'grounded'. i took this lightly. we got train schedules and directions to the apollo, and off we went.

missed the train by a minute, walked in the park for ten minutes, hopped on the next train. we walked directly to the 3 go to 125th, and followed four boys who looked like they knew where they were going. turns out they did. but we had no tickets as of yet, and we started to wonder if we even had this crazy luck / confidence we thought we had afterall.

standing outside the apollo theatre, two girls came up to me; one with a clipboard, one with a camera. turns out they were doing a piece for blender magazine about "fan fashion". they asked if they could take pictures of me- and i decided.. "why not?"- i didn't really care- i just wanted to find tickets for the show.

no one had any extra tickets.
we were sure there would be someone. we heard from everybody that all week there were extras. we guessed since it was a weekend show, everybody just went or something. we waited online while the shins were playing trying to score seats that the box office was supposedly releasing when moz hit the stage. yeah, right.

half an hour later, we were desperate. we didn't care about price or location, we just wanted a seat in the house. morrissey was about to hit the stage and we were beginning to doubt our lives entirely. were we ever destined to see morrissey like we thought we were? well..

there was a huddle in front of us- four girls from the magazine that took a photograph of me- they had their comp. tickets [im' guessing for their work for the mag] and they were ready to go in. i overheard one girl say she wasn't sure if she wanted to go in. i popped right up to the huddle and asked gently if they had any extra tickets. one girl said wait a minute. i smiled. she told the other girls that she didn't really like morrissey and that she'd rather give the ticket to the fan. she handed me the tickets. i asked her how much money she wanted for it, and she replied; "don't worry about it. have fun." carlise was without a ticket, but she told me to go in. after five minutes of major debacle, i went in. and it begun.

morrissey was decked out in what i expected him to be wearing- or i guess what i've always imagined him in- you know, the highclass suit. anyway, the AMAZING band, they played several songs of the new morrissey record [you are the quarry], old morrissey records, and some really great smiths songs. wow. i finally felt complete as a teenager, ready to move on in life. that sounds ridiculous, but it's true. i felt my adolescence at an all-time peak, this being the climax. i still have the biggest smile on my face. and morrissey was one exotic dancer.

carlise never got in. i felt horrible, but she said it was worth it to go, just to see the reaction on my face after the show. we took the train home and i described to her every detail.

tonight was one of those nights that i'll never forget, probably get grounded for, and tell my children the story of [when i'm older].

I nevva could perfawm at dat Apollo. Too many coons! Besides, all dey wanted out of all us Rat Packas was Sammie and his glass eye! By da way, nice show Mozza. All dis commotion is being made 'cause of dah setlist. Let me tell you people somethin'. It don't matta what Maw-rrissey plays as long as he recognizes at dah end of his show dat he did it "My Way"!

Has Julia finally cut her hair after morrissey asked her to? ; ) Just wondering....

great show... even from the way up top in the back seats it was the best view I have ever had at a Morrissey concert. The acoustics of the apollo were pretty good too.

Wish show was longer for the price of the tickets but I guess the age old thinking works here.... always leave them wanting more.

I went alone, and was reading a newspaper between The Shins and Morrissey. My wife doesn't like morrissey like she used to, haha.

Unless you think you want to try and rush the stage, as several did during the last song, the upper mez seats are fine, even if they are all the way in back. I was in the 2nd to last row. First time I saw morrissey was in 91 I think, when he came to the US touring with Phranc (awful).. pushing Kill Uncle LP. I never got to see the Smiths, but I have got 5 dvds of old smiths concerts taped of European TV and I don't think it will ever be as good without Marr, but it was a great show, and the music still seems relevant to me and obviously to all at the concert.

The crowd was mostly older, probably 28+, wasn't crazy crowd, but not dullards exactly either. However, at least upstairs, I couldn't believe not everyone was standing.

OK. Pre-show Vietnamese moonshine and post show el Presidente has put me in a bit of sorry a state to say the least, but I will recall what I can.

Last night I had 3rd row, right orchestra. A different perspective from the Apollo tiers for sure. 5th time seeing Morrissey, possibly the last, making me determined to finally get my hands on the man.

I showed up late, midway through FOTGTD, and stood a little further up from my seat. One guy said something about me not being able to stand where I was standing then quickly gave up blabbing away after he realised I wasn't going anywhere. Set was stellar, very happy to hear Jesus, A Rush, Shoplifters and Now My Heart Is Full as on Monday we missed out on all of these.

I think Daddy's Voice and How Could Anybody are two of the strongest songs in the set. I may be alone on that one. The former has an incredible energy about it, and the way Alain's guitar gets a thrashing on that solo is totally mint. Morrissey wasn't as 'up' as on Monday, a little more serious I think. Can't remember any comments, really, except a plug for Irish Blood being available at "Targets and Walgreens across the country."

Anyway, it seemed to be over real fast for some reason. My gut told me to make my break during Such A Little Thing when things were a little less mental - but I didn't. Burn on me.

So for the encore, Moz came out in a black Libertines t-shirt (I think) and right off the bat a lithe little girl made her break, ducking under the rhs stack, the only reasonable way to get up there from where I was. She made it up and in the ensuing confusion I made an ill-timed move. I didn't get too far at all and was thrown back fairly roughly by two or three SW1's. Luckily, a couple people broke my fall.

So I believe this is when things got a little crazy, it was a bit of a blur but I think someone else made it up. So after dusting my self off, I went for it again, this time getting up on the stage.

It was crazy. I felt like I was a rugby player, rushing the touch line. I can't remember if I got a hold of him or not. I do know some guys got a hold of me though, pulling me into the moat. They could have been dicks, but weren't so bad and pushed me back over the railing. I think they were very concerned about the other people tying to get up at this point.

Sorry, my head is hurting and must cut this short. I am considering going tonight for round three, namely because my mission was not fully realised. See you guys there, hopefully.

i thought NYC supposedly being the greatest city on earth would know how to have a good time at a morrissey gig. i was in the lower mez for both the thursday and friday night shows and i swear the entire audience was seated during the whole performace! what gives?!! how long has it been since moz last played on the east coast and you cant get off your lazy asses and appreciate him?! thursday was ok but friday me and my friend tried to stand up and have a good time and we were yelled at for standing!!!!! whats wrong with new york?!?! too cool to stand and have a good time. jesus. get over yourselves new york. learn to have a good time!

does anyone know where someone can find of list of the music moz played before the show started??

I went to Thursday and Fridays show and I was just wondering where morrissey gets most of his shirts from. The dark one last night I am pretty sure is from Thomas Pink but I couldn't tell where any of them on Thursday were from. Anyone know anything about his clothes? Thanks!

and forget Morrissey. These are two outdated things that anyone needs in there life. I am very sad that S.Morrissey is just playing the same gig night after night. For this he is a pussy!!! He has no talent, and all of you are fools for buying his tickets to the show. Your better off jacking the old one eyed snake while playing Super Mario Brothers. But, he speaks to me!!! Blah,Blah,Blah. So, does Weezer and Blink 182. But, do you hear me riding there coat-tails to the washing machine? NO!!! There punks!!! The only true music I have found in the past 20 years is Buster Poindexter. Seriously, can anyone and that means his gayness match Busters skills? I think not. So, to all of you get on some anti-depressents and get the hell away from Morrissey. He will just bring you down.

I went to the show yesterday and he looked taller than I thought he would,I always pictured him being like 5'8 or 5'9, but he looked much taller than that,does anybody know?

I went to the Friday show with the Shins (Great) and the Moz (amazing). I can say it was the most transcendent experience of my life, not just because it was (finally!) the first time I got to see Moz in the flesh, but I shared the experience with the most amazing woman. Listening to Moz's melancholy voice and lyrics while being next to this woman, who has no idea that I'm in love with her (and could never tell her) was total system overload. I know people reading this won't give a shit, and that's cool, but the strong emotions welling up in me--so happy I asked her to the concert, so sad I can't tell her how I feel--compelled me to write this.

p.s. contrary to what many thought, i think the set list was pretty good.

This is the first time I've seen Morrissey live, and the show, in my opinion, was amazing. The Shins did a great opening performance. I liked the size of the theater, not too big, every seat could see him well, or at least where I was. I was in the center lower mez, decent seats. It was clever to pack 5 sold-out shows into a small theater, than to have a one night performance in NYC in a huge arena. Great great. They made decent drinks there, the bar was small though, and the line for it was quite long throughout the night.

Wrong! He did not perform I Like You tonight, nor Crashing Bores. He did do Shoplifters and I Have Forgiven Jesus. Hand in Glove was not played. Encore was TIALTNGO.
