  • I didn't write up the total list but the major changes from Oslo was that he started out with How soon is now, ended with Panic and Irish blood was the encore.
Life is a pigsty was there as well, also Still Ill. Best of all were the Arsenal and Vauxhal additions; We'll let you know and Now my heart is full.

    Totally flaming.

  • I remember checking some archived pages from 1997 and this website was so different then. Morrissey didn't have a record contract at that time and the comments from the fans were so different.
It could be that many more people obviously have a broad-band these days and that there are many bored internet users who just use "free to post" websites for fun and leisure.

But this site has changed to a Morrissey Hate site and it's not the same anymore. What a shame.

  • it's true about 'Now My Heart' and 'We'll Let You Know' - both excellent, and he needs an improved setlist for V. Just drop 'Daddy's Voice' and replace with 'Gonna Need Someone' or 'The More Yig' or 'Find Out For Yourself'. Also, one more Smiths song please!

Too much complaining and predictable (yaaaaaaaaaaaawn)wind-ups here.

I once studied with a professional artist who said he always put a few inferior drawings into his exhibitions, to emphasise how good the rest was..

I can suppose that after touring ROTT for months on end Morrissey wants to vary it a bit. Simply to keep it interesting for them to play...

Or to remind us with a few not-so good oldies that ROTT isn't that bad after all...

Did you know that thermal heat in the hot springs supplies all electricity in Iceland? People say that Iceland and Greenland got eachother's names by mistake; the summer in Iceland is mild and lush.

Iceland is a modern Western Country that has managed to keep all its cultural uniqueness. It's small though, about 40,000 square Miles in size with a population around 280,000 people. Where are those people now when we need them for news? It's hard to discern which anonymous posters are sincere. The set-list and any observations from the show would be appreciated from someone who was there please.

Last thursday, my wife's best friend was taken to the hospital, and is now in a coma on life support. She has only a 5% chance of pulling out of it, and even so, there is far too much brain damage for her to ever again be the person that we know and love.

I have taken my "Strangeways" cd and re-burned it, deleting "Girlfriend In A Coma" from the album, as I will never be able to see that song in the same light again.

To quote my wife's blog entry, "Be well my friend and sleep if you must."

If I was the moderator I would try and do something to improve it. But so far there has been no efforts from the site-moderator to do anything. It is very frustrating having to plough trough an awful a lot of crap to try and get information what actually happended on a Morrissey gig. It has become a joke.

yes, he did 'we'll let you know' and all the crowd around me at the front went wild. He said a few things in icelandic which got some cheers, he asked julia how she was and name checked Winnie. He held as many hands as he could reach, accepted a letter from someone, remarked that he'd been in Iceland for 24 hours and hadn't seen any ice. Also made comment about how awful it was that rott only scraped the Icelandic charts. Someone shouted for jack the ripper and he said no he wouldn't do it.Before he played daddy's voice he commented that it was an obscure b side that only julia and winnie would know (at which i take great offence:)He held my hand though so I forgive him. No oscar Wilde this time and i've never seen so many children at a Morrissey gig. What's that about?Great night, though from where I was at the front i couldn't see how the rest of the crowd was reacting. Thanks to the lovely icelandic persons who helped me get three buses back to reykjavik and to Paulo and Fabio who gave me a lift back to Milan from Bollate last month.

  • We'll Let You Know! What a mind bender that was. Sounded amazing. Crowd started off a bit dull but turned excited, which I think put him into a better mood as the gig progressed. Best setlist of the tour so far I think. Floor was seated, but ga, which was odd. Only one row of people went up to the barrier at first, but the big gap filled up very quickly. Tried speaking a bit of Icelandic which was funny. Asked Julia how she was doing. Told some American guy in front me me that he was glad he didn't scare him off at the Palladium. Mentioned that ROTT barely scraped the bottom of the Icelandic charts, but just barely, which got a laugh. He seemed to really enjoy himself this gig, which was quite nice. shook tons of hands. Venue was big, and pretty full. He should have gone to Iceland long ago.

  • So, I just stumbled upon this page accidently tonight and saw all these big arguments here about whether or not he played We'll Let You Know on that show in Reykjavic.
Well, I was there, and when he played it the guy next to me (who told me he's already been to 11 gigs this tour alone) said this is the first time he plays this song on this tour.
But I have more than my word to prove it, of course, that same guy asked one of the bouncers in the middle of the show if he could get him the setlist in the end, and well, he did.
And then I took a picture of him with the setlist, so here it is:

feel free to look at the other photos from the show on there. I got some videos from that gig on youtube as well, just do a search on morrissey and reykjavic. cheers.
