  • Awesome show, no FOTGTD, solid set list. Crowd was into it, light show was amazing.

Definetly a different vibe than most of the ROTT shows, but in a good way.

  • yeah, yeah, yeah, the setlist was the same. However, here is my experience with the show.

MOZ: without a doubt, at the top of his game. Getting a little belly on him but his performance was superb! Need i say more?

BOZ: what a performer. There was a part when he was standing directly behind one of the bouncers, maybe 6" apart, and he was strumming the guitar in a way that he was pretending to be smacking the dud in the back of the head.

MIKEY: He definitely adds punch to the songs...top notch musician.

JOSE MALDONADO: I was directly behing him when the bouncers where manhandling him. he got in an argument with one of the bouncers, nose to nose, and the bouncer shove him really hard. JOSE, if you read this, I got a picture of the guy in case you want to file a lawsuit...I AM YOUR WITNESS.

JULIA: well, Julia will be Julia...and her comments are rather weird.

STUPID IDIOTS: there was a bunch of stupid, idiotic greasers that collectively rushed the stage during Killed Me and Moz and the gang were escorted off the stage for safety reasons. Man, you greasers are are eal bunch of Neanderthals...f'ckin losers. you know who you are.

BAR: Damn! $10 for a beer in a cup?!?!

BAND: They are awesome...a whole lot better than the Quarry line-up.

BACK TO THE IDIOT: Moz handed him the mic asking if he had a questions and the greaser comes out with, "Always remember but forget my fate." Moz had a look of What the Duck? [put an F in the word Duck]

ANOTHER IDIOT: Same situation as above..."When are you coming to Camarillo [a small suburb of Ventura]? He says, "Ah, never."

Well, I'm sure others have things to post so I'll stop here.

JOSE, I'm serious about the idiot bouncer. Let me know if you want me to text you the picture of the security guy that struck you in the face.

    Have a good nigh.

  • Moz made a comment along the these lines, "What the hell happened in San Diego? What a nightmare."

    And that was that.

  • Moz jokingly said "this is our last song" right after he opened up with queen is dead probably refering to the SD show then after playboys he said something like " was SD a really bad dream? " I think it really happened ".Few people got kicked out before the concert even started idiots alwaya trying to push thier way to the front even though people waited outside for hours to be there. GET THERE EARLY ASSFUCKS

  • Sorry, maybe someone else has a better setlist, but here is what I have:
    1. The Queen Is Dead
    2. Last of the Famous Int'l Playboys
    3. Ganglord
    4. The National Front Disco
    5. Let Me Kiss You
    6. New Song?
    7. The Boy With The Thorn In His Side
    8. Irish Blood, English Heart
    9. I've Changed My Plea To Guilty
    10. Please,Please,Please let me get what I want
    11. Everyday Is Like Sunday
    12. In The Future When All's Well
    13. Disappointed
    14. You Have Killed Me(Interrupted due to stage invaders)
    15. I Just Want To See The Boy Happy
    16. That's How People Grow Up (?)
    17. I Will See You In Far Off Places
    18. Life is a Pigsty
    19. How Soon Is Now?
    20. You're gonna need somone on your side (Encore)

The show was great and there was good crowd energy. I was very impressed with his background lighting and great backdrop. I was relieved that Moz & the boys continued the show despite the minor incident with the 4-5 stage invaders all at once. The first female stage invader during Everday is Like Sunday very gentle w/ Moz and gave him a nice hug, the second group of invaders seemed more like they were trying to tackle him. Some key Moz phrases:
    "Welcome to the Hollywood Bowl"
During Irish Blood, English Heart "I wish the Americans would get sick of the Republicans and Democrats"
"Tell me San Diego was a bad dream, unfortunately I do not think it was"
"They only want my bank account, that is the only reason they want to touch me"---(regarding the stage invaders)

That's all I can remember for now...
I cannot wait to see what he has lined up for the Hollywood Bowl on Friday. Good night!

I noted the songs as they were played. I have the same setlist you reported. #4 new song is "All You Need Is Me." I'm glad we got TWO new songs, not just "Grow Up" because I really prefer AYNIM. "Grow Up" features amazing vocal delivery of the chorus, so I don't want that dropped even though I like it less.

In S.D. during Lemme K You, he sang "I've zigzagged all over America" instead of substituting "Los Angeles" as he had been doing lately. I'm glad tonight he sang "Los Angeles" again.

Very good show! Made up for San Diego. My heart stopped when he left the stage because of the invaders during YHKM. So glad he finished!

Before "In the Future..." he made a quip about how people think his songs have two meanings...when there's not even a first meaning. He made similar comments back when he used to sing "I Can Have Both" during the 2000 tour.

Here's the slightly revised setlist for tonight:

      1. The Queen Is Dead
      2. Last of the Famous Int'l Playboys
      3. Ganglord
      4. National Front Disco
      5. Let Me Kiss You
      6. All You Need Is Me
      7. The Boy with the Thorn in His Side
      8. Irish Blood, English Heart
      9. I've Changed My Plea To Guilty
      10. Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want
      11. Everyday Is Like Sunday
      12. In the Future When All's Well
      13. Disappointed
      14. You Have Killed Me
      15. I Just Want to See the Boy Happy
      16. That's How People Grow Up

Holy crap of dog. Time to switch season-tickets to the Lighthouse Theatre with the Christian overtones. Much better!)

  • The absurdly high ticket price was actually a big plus! It really kept away the trashy fans that we have seen in the past and some of the very classy original Smiths fans have returned.

Now I can't wait to see the Hollywood Bowl show!
Even higher prices will mean even a better crowd.

    Sweet show!!!!

  • First of the Gang to Die is his worst song ever, and I am so happy he left it off the setlist.
That song says "nothing to me about my life" and from the good looking crowd tonight, it wouldn't have said much to anyone there.

I also thought Morrissey was a 100% correct about everyone hates Southpaw.

It was also nice to see him hand the mic to more people than just Julia

  • What an amazing set, crowd, energy. Morrissey in a good mood. Loved the tie. I saw Alain Whyte before the show talking with Sol Walker. I kept hoping the rumors of him joining the band onstage were true after all. I will NEVER get tired of hearing "Life is a Pigsty" performed live! Security manhandling the fans trying to touch Morrissey kinda just comes with the territory. Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes they put a fist in your side. All worth it, to share a handshake with our man!!! Congrats to the lucky ones! Ah, maybe next time :)

The crowd. WOW. The crowd were havin it!!! At some points during the gig, I couldnt hear Morrissey becuase of the defening cheers from the crowd, WONDERFUL. Beautiful to see morrissey fans that are passionate about him. Last of the Famous, superb. Cool to see Alain W. before and after the gig. Boz was cool and signed some stuff and took some snaps with fans. Morrissey made a super quick dash to the tour bus after kicking his heals backstage for about an hours. Hollywoood Bowl here I come.

  • Ive read some of the comments on here regarding the gig and what a gig by all accounts.

But why is Moz , so more talkative , approachable , accomodating to his oversea's fans, than he is to his British fans.

Ive been to many UK concerts regarding the Moz and trust me, he hardly interacts at all with the crowd , well not to the extent he does when he plays abroad.

    Not bitter but just wondering.

  • Four or five stupid idiot fans almost lost the show for us when they tried to live in a time that was way past theirs and decided to rush the stage. One of them was a fat greasy Grimmace (from McDonald's)looking character and another was a skinny wannabe "psycho-billy greaser" that i see at all the shows trying to look tough. Anyway, moz was rushed off stage, while the band continued playing. The skinny idiot patted Boz on the back as he walked off stage, but Boz was highly visibly annoyed and upset at this idiot abd the others and told the rest of the band to stop playing by doing a cut to the throat gesture. After hearing from fans that attended the San Diego show that morrissey had cut the show short simply because of the sound, i really though morrissey would not come back out. Luckily, morrissey and the rest of the band had the grace to continue.

To those idiots who almost cost us the show: It's not 1992! It's not Dallas! If morrissey want's you on stage he'll let you know! Stop trying to live in a time that wasn't yours!

  • I have not been to a Morrissey concert in years and I cannot believe how God-awful he looked and sounded at this show! Ugh…I was afraid to travel to these LA shows (because of the drama in SD) and now I am petrified to continue to anymore. This was a complete disappointment from start to finish. First, I can’t believe he booked a venue like this one where he expects his most loyal fans to sit and wait for 12+ hours for the theatre to open. Does he not think that we have lives? That we have nothing better to do than wait for him to bestow his presence upon us? What a cocky prick! And…the fans who tried to get on stage were man-handled beyond reproach (and, no I was not one of them); I mean, it is understandable for folks to try and make it on stage (since he seems to condone this behavior in his videos), but the fans were slammed into the audience by the security (and, my goodness, his security guards are god-awful ugly gorillas)! The most shocking, however, is his voice. He seemed to stop frequently during each set, looking fatigued? Or distracted. His age (or weight?) seems to be taking a toll on him. I can’t believe how fat he has gotten. I took a friend of mine (not a huge fan) and all she could say afterward was that he reminded her of an old-lounge entertainer that you might find in Laughlin. Too many carbs lately Mozza? Not that looks are everything, but my god, keep your shirt on if that is all you have to offer us! Maybe you could have Jesse take off his shirt instead? I think I’ll skip the rest of the tour. I’m sorry SD—I should have listened to you!

  • This is the second time that I have seen Morrissey at the Majestic Ventura and this time I came from much further away and I'm so glad that I did!
The Hollywood Bowl was fantastic, but in a completely different way.
The theater in Columbus was beautiful, but we were "chained to our seats" as Morrissey commented.
I love how intimate this theatre is and that you can see his facial expressions from just about anywhere in the theater and I love the general admission on the floor. I did have have trouble understanding some of the things that he said when speaking, which I don't remember from last time or at any of the other shows that I've seen.
I enjoyed talking to Charles from Ventura throughout the night and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that I didn't get to say a proper goodbye. I didn't really mean to leave so quickly after the show, it's just that I can be painfully shy sometimes.
The guy with the camera out front caught me off guard and made me feel really uncomfortable. I hope that I don't appear on TV looking like a bumbling idiot! It didn't look like he was getting much of a response from anyone. It's all in the approach.
All in all, this was a great show in a great venue in a cool town and I'm sure that's why Morrissey chose to play here again and I really hope that he does again in the near future.
