No stage invaders, security was very tight. There were a bunch of crowdsurfers though, like upwards of 40.

Came out for the encore and said something like "To die in Riverside is such a wonderful place to die" but went into You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side.

After one of the new songs he said something like "You'll get used to it eventually. Maybe in 10 years."

When his part with Julia came, he said "You're squished aren't you?" He then asked if she wanted to say anything, but she declined. Then he put the mic out to a guy who yelled "I love you Morrissey!" He replied "I knew you'd say that."

Good show, good performance, good crowd.

Great show very pushy. I was only behind 3 rows of people and ended up getting pushed back about 8 rows. but thankfully i did i got to enjoy the show it was too crazy in the begining.

there was a crowd of girls having panic attacks and crying to get out of there. they should really limit the alcohol sales at concerts. all in all a great show a much "rowdy'er " crowd than ventura.

i saw lots of cameras security didnt seem to be bothered by them at all so i expect lots of footage on you tubey soon.

hope everyone had a good time

  • Definitley a great show. Everyone was very enthusiastic, the crowd was very energetic. Morrissey was very happy. One thing he said was something like, "Tomorrow you'll all have to go back to work and school, because there's reality and there's the the other world, but this is reality."

No stage invasions. He was shaking many hands though, mostly on the left side of the stage. There were many crowd surfers. He handed the mic to Julia, but she had nothing to say.

He did the same thing as in Ventura where he lays down on the floor and puts his legs up on the drum set and just lays there with one hand on his head while Mikey plays a sweet little melody at the end of Pigsty.

He sang something about Riverside to the melody of There Is a Light right before he started playing You're Gonna Need.

Every song was great, he added Lucky Lisp and took out I've Changed My Plea.

    The show was awesome.

  • This was an incredible show after that ridiculous waste of time show in San Diego. Moz was extremely agile, comfy, and dancing alot. He was really into the show, banging his tambourine and comedic. Playboys was freakin awesome and Pigsty was bomb. Moz and the crew put on a good show with the gong and huge ass drum.

One important subject to touch on, there were alot of HOT ASS babes at the show, especially the Latina Mami's!!!!

  • great show. morrissey was very energetic and playful. from where i was standing, which was kind of far away, he really seemed to be giving it his all. he looked great. he really engaged with the crowd, shaking hands, and talking a lot. i didnt have a camera. would be interesting if someone could jot down everything he did say. i wouldnt want to quote him, because im sure id misquote. crowd was very enthusiastic. he said something about "good night san diego" after disappointed, but was kidding. before encore the entire band were arm to arm and did a bow. it was very nice show. i liked how it was smaller. at san diego, it was too big, too many people, and outside so many distractions. he seemed more accessible at this show. -jessicamozfan

  • I thought the show was absolutely fantastic. I have to admit, it was a bit of a blur at times, well, most of the time, but the sound, the energy, the man...incredible. I arrived sans ticket and hoped to find a fair scalper. I ended up paying $80 for third row seats which basically meant I couldn’t see shit since the General Admission crowd was enormous, but I could feel the music, which is what counts. And it did give me a chance to sit down on occasion, which, strangely, came in handy. The line to get in was tedious. The girl behind me said she’d seen Morrissey 18 times! My God. I tried striking up some conversation about the quantity of tube-top wearing Morrissey fans and the San Diego show quality, but she seemed as shy as our hero, so I turned my attention to the palm trees and mission-style architecture while listening to the thumping of Kristeen Young inside. I lament I didn’t even catch a glimpse of her.

Morrissey looked DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Suit and red tie. Then, just the shirt. Then no shirt. Then Anonie here nearly, well, use your imagination. The band in red shirts. The music fantastic. Some lyric changes as might have been mentioned. I was gone gone during Pigsty, so I’m not sure how that went. Morrissey could endlessly sing Lucky Lisp and I’d be SET FOR LIFE. Just recalling the concert makes me all aflutter and I quite literally have to stop typing. I really wish I had a general admission ticket last night. If anyone happens to have an extra one for the Bowl Show, email me at [email protected] and maybe I could buy dinner in addition to the ticket. And I do bite sometimes, but only at the right time. I think. And I’m a nice person.

    VIVA la PADRE!

and you leave on your own, and you go home, and you cry and you want to die(or masturbate according to Steven!!) BRILLIANT!! Can't wait to see him in Vegas again! Just thought you might find this entertaining, it was kind of subtle when he did it.

  • Lovely time! I just knew it would be even more exciting than Ventura (which was very good).

Even though Kristeen Young complimented the Ventura crowd on being the most stylishly (?) dressed, I think Riverside's crowd took the honors...except where was that girl with the John Waters parade float of a coiff I saw in Ventura? That was incredible!

Got smushed in the pit, but I expected that. My greatest "hits" are sore now, hah!

So glad to get "Lucky Lisp" back again. New songs sounded delightful!

Cheers to Ses and Al (the ink artist)! Missed you after the show.

I think of Riverside differently now that Morrissey has graced it with his presence. It used to be this brutally ugly town in the smoggy IE with shitty ass traffic. It still has shitty ass traffic and smog, but it just seems more beautiful now. Yesterday the weather was perfect; downtown was clean and verdant with well-tended vegetation. Spanish-style architecture was well preserved.

One time when I met Morrissey eons ago, he asked me where I lived. At the time, it was in Riverside. I said he probably doesn't know this podunk town, but he insisted that he knew it well. I'm so glad he knows it! He really seemed to enjoy Riverside last night.

To die in Riverside...I think I did last night! ; )

  • The show really was great. However, it took a song or two for it to get great for me. I learned my lesson. DO NOT take your mother close to the stage!! It was a family night for me, I took my mom and brother since I turned them both on to Morrissey years and years ago. I didn't even think the fans would get that insane once Morrissey walked out. It's never seemed that insane to me before, maybe cause I've never had to worry about someone or perhaps this show was especially insane. Once my brother and I managed to drag her back, since we were originally two people away from the stage, we could enjoy the show without fearing for her life. I was disappointed that I chose to take her to that show because I wasn't able to stay up there but it was a great show regardless. Only a few people really got to me at the beginning and it was probably because I was just scared for my mom. There was a guy in the crowd, before we got my mom out, who made a point of telling my brother that he wasn't meaning to push our mom and that he couldn't help it. You were awesome. My brother commented on how cool he thought the fans were so for all of you who were there and weren't trying to take down a fifty-five year old woman, you were great. Even those of you who drank waaaay too much were great. One thing I've always loved about Morrissey shows, his fans generally are so friendly. It's just not true for a lot of acts.

With this new culture of protection and isolation, perhaps Morrissey will see it in him to announce what is real, and positive, and dangerous and concerns our lives once again!
We try for the stage, but Morrissey can reach higher - he really is a great activist. Morrissey for Prime Minister!
