Few stage invaders during the end of the show; Finally New York!!! let's show them that we are not cold blooded people that just applaud at the end of every song and that's it, before "Human being" he said that the music that most influenced to him was made in this city and if somebody didn't now the original version should leave the building, I wonder if David Johansen was there.

The crowd was... interesting. There was a big guy signing along off key, wrong words, the works - when a girl told him to quit it he got an attitude and told her she could still hear Morrissey. No one really could, and I was glad she said something before I did. But then the guys around him all started talking and going on and on about how it's ok to sing during a show. It was ridiculous. I moved away from that guy, not because of his horrific singing but because he kept screaming and hooting in my ear. I am ashamed to consider myself a newyorker after the behavior of those nitwits. After I moved someone from the balcony threw their beer into the crowd. At that point I became utterly convinced I was at a Mets game.

Despite my fellow concert goers it was a great show. But I don't think I'll be going to another show where people can buy $22 seats...

it was great to see everyone from last night again and to meet some more new people.
I hope I didn't kick anyone in the head when I got onstage (I was dead center in the black jeans, white shirt and orange jacket in hand) and a book fell out of my coat (Franny and Zooey). if anyone has a picture with me in it i'd love to have it regardless of the probably terrible expression on my face.

the show was better than Monday (though not by much, in my opinion). The final invasion by the crowd really did the show over well. I'm still hoping for Still Ill sometime this week. I'll die if he plays it. see you all friday!

The guys were in it from head-to-toe - fantastic. Morrissey himself was resplendent. His silhouette was even more breathtaking than usual.

My prayers were finally answered when he played "Dear God." "The Loop" was the high-point again. When Morrissey wails on that tambourine, he still moves like Satan himself - I just can't get enough of it.

Morrissey seemed almost giddy. Some memorable lines (approximately):

"Does anyone here remember a song called Picadilly Palare?" *huge applause* "Well, I feel sorry for you."

"The first music I heard that made me realize that I was insane was from this city" *applause* - "Is this Salt Lake?"

The encore was pretty epic. There is a five-foot gap, and people actually made it over. The first guy obviously spooked Moz a bit - he was having none of it. Eventually, there was a pretty good wave of people, and Morrissey was swamped. Quite a few fell into the pit - brutal. One "Je Suis Morrissey" T was thrown at the very end, with the usual results.

            Kristine Young was simply awful.

Oh my God, tonight was soooo much better than last night! The show was sold out, which made for a great overall atmosphere, i love looking up behind me and seeing all the balconies full of love. I managed to get up pretty close on the house right side, near the guy with the orange flowers. Moz's voice was absolutely perfect, perfect, perfect, every note spot on. "Dear God Please Help Me" was an especially religious experience. He was in great spirits, said lots of random hilarious things, and the crowd was pretty vocal for the US. I was really proud of the invasions at the end, it's like a victory for all of us when someone actually gets up there and hugs him, although i worry about him sometimes. I loooved at the end when he *finally* took off his shirt and was flexing and posing. He looks amazing, in even better shape than in July I think!
All in all, this show is up there in the ranks of Glasgow 03 & Dublin 04. Wish I could make it to Friday & Saturday, but I'll be there on Sunday for the finale...
Much love to all of you. I love being surrounded by (most!) Moz fans. I love exiting the theatre after a Moz show and looking at the expressions on everyone's faces, mirroring my own joy and feeling like we shared an experience. And we're just all so good looking...!

As to the person who suggested she be curbstomped: go to hell. In fact, *all* of you can go to hell. Ain't nobody forcing you to listen to the woman, and surely "awful" isn't the fucking word for someone of her raw technical skill. Say you hated her, but don't say she's awful.

The return of upright bass, Boz's enthusiasm and taste in guitars, (Burns Marquee!)I could not have been happier. It's ridiculous but I welled up during at least 3 songs. Death of a Disco Dancer, The loop, Jack the ripper? It's like dream come true. My friends were up in the balcony with their baby boy in utero, I said that after last night he is sure to be born with a pompadour and a single tear. I'm sorry to the girl whose foot I stopped on. In my opinion, The BEST band that Morrissey ever had backing him was The Smiths, on the "Meat is Murder" tour to be precise - those shows were amazing - a true happening. The band started falling apart by the time they toured "Queen is Dead". I was fortunate enough to have seen Them 14 times, used to be friendly with Morrissey back then (he would put me on guestlist, let me come into soundcheck, etc). His second best backing band was when he toured in 1991 - openeing a few shows with "Interesting Drug" - not sure what album it was, but the band was ferocious then - tight and choppy and he himself was amazing (listen to "Beethoven was Deaf" and you will hear.) Was anyone at last nights show fortunate enough to have seen him back then, or even with The Smiths? I ask this as this current band is so lacklustre. "Stopped Me if you think... was sluggish at best - he needs to take this old classic UP a notch and rework it. The gig did not really start until they launched into the amazing "Death of a Disco Dancer".

Morrissey is without a doubt a GREAT artist, and had a profound effect on my life as an artist. It seems he must be at a difficult position in relation to his work. He is now close to 50 years old, and writes from a very particular point of view, full of witty double-entendres, sharp criticism, and also high camp - I'm not sure that the crowd truly grasps the material - I saw lots of young fat people drinking beer. It was great to NOT have people up on stage during the whole show as one could focus more on his singing, but then ultimately great when people DID get up on stage for the encore - such a great song - I realize that this stage invasion (has always been) an integral part of the Morrissey experience, and elevated the dynamic of the show.

The sound quality was terrible - did not really get good until the last few songs - who is the sound mixer? I have heard other people play this venue who sounded amazing. I just feel that a MAJOR artist like Morrissey needs to raise the standards of live performance - if not him then who? I truly feel sorry for people who thought this show was "great" - it was a case of a great artist doing a very average show. Instead of Kristeen Young, Why doesn't Morrissey mix it up a bit and have a fabulous Trannie support him? (check out "Our Lady J" on youtube) I only say this as I know that he's a big trannie fan from WAY back - the first time I saw The Smiths in Chicago in 1984 - drag queens opened for them (as James cancelled at the last minute) and my good friend Pete Burns and Morrissey used to be very close. Morrissey also is very into Lypsinka (John Epperson) I hope you fans are aware of the work of these people. People like Justin Bond (aka Kiki and Herb), Antony and The Johnsons, and Rufus Wainwright. Rufus, Antony, & Justin carry on the great New York City tradition that Morrissey was influenced by - and spoke about last night - fabulous talented queens - people who live their life with some sort of "edge". I mean the Dolls may not have been real "queens" - but they were playing with the whole notion of trannie-dom. Rufus told me once how Morrissey even mentioned to him that he stole a few ideas from him - as all great artists find inspiration in other artists work. I mention these 2 performers in particular (Rufus and Antony), as they are extremely MUSICAL in their live shows - I did NOT find last nights gig to be very "MUSICAL", but more like obligatory pantomime, until the last few songs that is - but a strange arc of songs to play - is Morrissey the musical director of his own gig?? And, as epic a song that it is - does anyone really want to hear "How Soon is Now" - NOW?? ;-) It's a strange place that I find Morrissey having to perform in, do you fans really feel that he's inspired in his performances? I am curious as to when most people on here were first able to see him live - "It just wasn't like the old days anymore...

p.s. I will always love you - OK??!

Furthermore-your eye makeup: NO.) just a short collage of videos, the curtain falls, and the "Imperfect List"(which, by the way, I've decided to begin all my DJ sets from now on with) hits, the man arrives, and 2 hours of awesome begins. Moz and the lads looked sharp in those jeans and matching denim jackets (sure beats Monday's blue old man pants) Opened with "Stop Me" again, and I was worried we'd have an identical setlist. This was not the case, as was witnessed minutes later when I found myself crying while singing "The Boy With the Thorn In His Side." Seeing "Please, Please.." again was a real treat as well. This was the first I witnessed "Dear God..." live, and I liked it's standing in for "Pigsty" as a lead in to the "Auld Lyne Sang/HSIN" combo. Speaking of "Pigsty" here's hoping we get it on Friday. It was good seeing "Disappointed" again, I really liked the band's rendition of this on the last leg, was glad to have it back. I think he brought back some songs from the last leg since he canceled on NYC last time, guess he wanted to give everyone a taste of what they missed. Good deal. I almost thought he was gonna play "Piccadilly Palare" but should've known better-asking if we remember a song is Moz-speak for "good for you, but I'm not gonna play it." Again, "The Loop" was a highlight-Moz dancing the entire song, looking like the Moz of old. And Boz was rocking out fiercely as well. I still think that standup bass(big props to Solomon for killing it, by the way) would serve us well with "Sing Your Life"..how about it, eh? The crowd was WAY more energetic, really into it tonight- Moz even said "thanks for giving us a great night" toward the end...and big props to Nick (xfranklyx) for being the first NYC showgoer to attempt the stage invasion(and failing miserably, haha-that fall looked painful)-you definitely set the bar though, "First of the Gang" was an invasion fest. Came within inches of getting Jesse's setlist, the dude right behind me got it though. We ran into Chloe Sevigny on the way out, and I met nugz, Skinner, and Buzzetta outside after-a pleasure, all of you-see you this weekend! I then went and stuffed myself full of vegan soft serve and baked goods, and forgot to pay for any of it :) I can't fucking wait for Friday.

in closing, I leave you with this: wouldn't it be funny if Morrissey really WAS going down on Kristeen?

The fans finally made it to the stage. I haven't see that in years...especially with security precautions taken in Manhattan. The security guards could keep up with the crowd as bodies flung themselves to the stage. With a little backstep, but with open arms Morrissey embraced each and every loving fan.....Truely was a sight to see

I didn't want to interrupt him but was hoping he'd get off the phone so I could interject a quick hello but he never did. He did put the phone aside for about 5 seconds while he ordered but started talking again. He was wearing jeans, black shoes and a lightweight dark jacket....I don't know what he ordered but I'm sure Moz would not approve as the Carnegie Deli is not exactly a vegetarian establishment! The next thing I knew our bill was paid and our taxi wating outside...oh well! Had to rush out and could not wait around to say hello! This took place at 12:15 am....what amazing luck and timing! I wonder what hotel they're stayig at and if Moz is at the same hotel as the rest of the band....
