  • Moz was in great spirits as far as I can tell..
Great energy, even some disparaging remarks to the security when they wouldn't let some reach him...
Screamed out the New York Dolls when he spoke of goin' to Record Theater today and got a response of "I don't like them, I like bandz like Journey!".. Got on stage for "..Gang" and got a piece of the final shirt of the nite... All I could of expected and more...

  • Wish it hadn't been a seated venue. Felt that aspect of it made the show a bit static-at least where I was sitting. No one around me was really moving at all. Oh well. I tried sneaking down to the very front, alas, that didn't work.

Overall I thought the show was great-and I thought he was great. I loved his interaction with the crowd.

Seeing him tonight simply makes me want to do whatever it takes now to get into the bowery show.

  • a total monster on the drums and a thrill to hear. Solomon too. Moz in very nice voice. Smiths selections strong but picks from solo back catalog a bit spotty. Moz says many dumb/arrogant things on the mic. The bitterness is cut into his face. A walking contradiction and still compelling. Getting close probably really would be a needle in the eye.

  • Awesome show. I have wanted to see Moz all of my life, and finally the stars aligned and he came to Buffalo! Thanks Moz!
It was a fun show!! People around me were pretty static, but I was out of my seat singing along and loving it (and hell, I was sober!) My friend managed to jump onstage and touch him, and I swear that it must have been one of the highlights of her life. We all had an awesome time! :)
Some of the songs he sang were, Ask (And I was thrilled, because I LOVE this song!) Let Me Kiss You, First of the Gang to Die, Throwing My Arms Around Paris, This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now.. wow he rocked, and the band too.. (love Boz Boorer!)

  • I just got back from upstate and have been up for almost 48hrs, so I am very discombobulated (but so what else is new), but I would like to let you all know some things before the screen becomes a blur. I’ll try to say as much as I can for now because I know a lot of you are true supporters of Morrissey. You have to go through it to understand what I’m talking about. Okay-right, Morrissey was fantastic tonight, technically last night as I’m still up and the days are merging together.

Got there at the exact minute Morrissey walked on stage which was really “strange”, but a lovely, lovely surprise. He was wearing a light pink shirt, sort of, and jeans, which looked so adorable on him. And I need to point out, that he looks like he weighs 140 pounds. However, even still he is so thin, strangely he still looks more beautiful then ever. Boz looks extraordinary, very attractive as well indeed. I was up front and most of the “fans” were sitting there like “potted plants”. There were many people standing in front of the first few rows of seats, but this was the first time I noticed “fans” who weren’t even singing or interacting as much as previous gigs. Morrissey then changed into a blue shirt after he threw the pink shirt. He was lying down on the stage at one point in the beginning on his back and he looooked so mmmmm handsome. I like when he does this, this time I got a perfect, perfect view as most of the “fans” were just sitting there like “stuffed animals”, not blocking anything.

Have I missed something? Yes, yes, I said something to Morrissey regarding a third dimension, fifth dimension? Hmmm. I meant it in a good way in that zone. Morrissey also mentioned that he was from the third dimension. I love Rod Serling. I love Morrissey
After Sorry Doesn’t Help, Morrissey said something like, “sometimes it does, maybe” something of the sort.
At the end of the concert, Morrissey said “God Bless You, God Bless Me”
He gave the microphone to people and asked them if they wanted to sing and one girl was singing “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” but then Morrissey responded “You’re going to make me do a jig”.
Let me get this straight, I am trying to recall everything but it is hard because I’ve had no sleep.
He also said the things as the people wrote above so I won’t mention then again as I am repetitive enough as it is.

Wait a minute, I’m leaving out the main point. Even though I didn’t really particularly like Buffalo, the city -- Oneonta is much better; just let me get this straight, Morrissey was outstanding tonight - his voice was excellent. At the end he got the lyrics a little mixed up in First of the Gang in a playful way and it was adorable.
Or maybe I just got them mixed up but could have sworn it was him, but no it was probably me.

Anyways, it was worth going to Buffalo for the first time, not Oneonta, not Syracuse, etc., because, because I was really happy to see Morrissey after sooooo long. I was worried when he was sick and I’m just really glad to know he is OK. Definitely, one of his best shows other than Boca in 2007.

Morrissey is my Rock and the connection shall never go away -- no matter how many people try to send malice and ill will to him at my expense.

Excellent night, it was sooooo cold up there. I’ll try to write more if I ever go to sleep. I especially loved I’m OK, Sorry Doesn’t Help. One Day Goodbye Will be Farewell is perfect but it’s so sad, the lyrics. But then beautiful at the same time. Ultimate favorite which I think Morrissey was the most extraordinary tonight was Something is Squeezing My Skull” - “I” changed the words to “please give me more, give me more, etc.” Well I thought it was funny, nobody else was singing to it anyways. I absolutely love it.

    Thank You and Good Night.

  • What an amazing night! Have been waiting 20 years to see Morrissey in concert and he finally came to Buffalo and I was able to catch his show! He sounded amazing and interacted a lot with the audience. Was amazed at the number of stage invasions. Way to go to all of you who made it up there! I have to say, while waiting to get in and talking to some other folks in line, I think Moz has the most loyal and down to earth fans ever! Thank you Morrissey for a night I will never forget!

  • Did anyone else notice that as the little sweat stain on the back of Morrissey's blue shirt grew, it took on the shape of a heart? Very appropriate.

I drove from Cleveland to Buffalo for the show and it was well worth it. Moz did seem in good spirits and as though he was having a good time. He did strike me as possibly being a bit tired/still not entirely well yet. He didn't move quite as gracefully as usual, and it sounded as though one or two of the high notes were tough. I love that he gave it his all. He never phones in a show. I love that man.

  • The show was fantastic. I am still reeling.

I loved how chatty Moz was. My favorite was when that girl crawled onto the stage and threw her arms around his ankle and wouldn't let go and he sang, as if they were the original lyrics to the song, "That's my foot."

This was my first time seeing Mozzer, and I had a blast! I was probably one of the youngest people there, being only 16 years of age. I grew up with his music and I've been in love with it ever since. I can't say I dislike many of his songs, because I just love everything he's done, both solo and with The Smiths. I've been to a few other concerts, and this one has to be my favourite. Seeing my favourite musician performing live. Nothing can get better than that! The whole place was rockin' and I feel sorry for the girl that got kicked out. Moz couldn't have been in a better mood, even if he was still a little sick. The band was really rockin' too. For me, the climax of the show was Sorry Doesn't Help. He sounded exactly like he does on Years Of Refusal. And the stage invasions were pretty sweet! 15+ at my first Moz concert. I only wish my seats were closer, I would have TOTALLY jumped the stage. The whole thing still has me reeling around the fountain ...what an experience! :)

    Charming Man/Billy Budd/Black Cloud

then in the middle (not in order):
    HSIN/Irish Blood English Heart/Paris/The Loop/Ask/I Keep Mine Hidden/Best Friend on the Payroll/Sorry Doesn't Help/Seasick/Goodbye will be Farewell/Crashing Bores/Squeezing My Skull/How Can Anybody Know how I Feel/Let Me Kiss You/Disco Dancer

    Last song: Ok by Myself
    Enc: FOTGTD

  • Enjoyed the concert, but nowhere near as much as the Myrtle Beach show 2 years ago. Set list was ordinary and didn't keep up the enthusiasm in the crowd well. My favourite song that he played, First of the Gang to Die, was butchered... Moz never really got into the song and didn't really sing much at all. He just mumbled what seemed like jibberish instead of singing. Maybe the guy that hit him right at the start of the song knocked him out of kilter and he never recovered. The sound could have been better too - the UB concert hall has great acoustics that the band didn't take advantage of fully. Lower the volume a bit and it would have sounded much cleaner. The Courteeners really blasted their bass and it sounded terribly ordinary.

I have to say, though, even an average Morrissey concert is still better than many other bands' best performances. He's so expressive, passionate and, for those lucky enough to be at the front, he's very gracious when he shakes your hand.

  • Just got back to Canada from the show. From the banter around, could tell there were a lot of Canadians. Moz was very chatty and shook a few dozen hands, I would say. Another thing he said (I'm not sure if it has been posted yet):

-"If you are thinking of hiring someone to do work on your house or apartment or whatever and are planning on hiring someone you know..." before launching into Best Friend on the Payroll.

Also... The first shirt (pink) that he threw, was caught by a girl up front who wore it for the rest of the night. Nice to see it wasn't torn to shreds.

Finally, The Courteeners were excellent. If you aren't sure about them, see them live. The singer has a great voice that really filled the hall. They were well received - lots of applause and cheers. Great opener.

  • I was at this show and was the lucky bastard who caught Morrissey's pink shirt during "Let Me Kiss You!" I'm not sure what stars must have aligned in my favor, but I was able to snag it and keep it in one piece. My wife wore the shirt, which was still soaked with sweat, for the remainder of the evening as countless fans smelled/touched it.
Morrissey's previous ownership aside, it's a rather nice shirt. It actually comes from a designer in London by the name of Kilgour. A recent search revealed that the shirt usually retails for around $200. The shirt, as stated in the title, is pink and is/was heavily scented with Morrissey's cologne. I haven't yet been able to place the scent, but others have suggested either a Helmut Lang scent (Curion?) or something by D&G.
We have been going back and forth about whether or not to have the shirt repaired (it's missing 3 buttons from Morrissey's passionate removal of it) or to frame it with our tickets. I thinks that we are going to frame it. Too bad we can't preserve the smell...
If you are interested, there is a great video of the song/shirt throwing now on You Tube. Overall, the show was amazing and was made all the more magical by being able to leave with such an amazing (and in tact) piece of memorabilia!
