My third Morrissey show and by far the strongest show yet.

Security was really cracking down on cameras. Took these pics with my iPhone before I was given my final warning.

Morrissey threw out one shirt and the fight for it lasted, not kidding, 30 mins. They were still fighting for it when we left. Security took it away....

    Enjoy

  • Just got back from the show, it was really good and I loved the set list compared to when I saw him in 2007. If anyone has been following the set lists on a regular basis, it was pretty much that except we even got Some Girls are Bigger than Others tonight too! It sounded amazing live! Like I mentioned earlier I would've preferred to hear Birthday over Carol but opening up with This Charming Man was fantastic! I loved hearing all the You Are the Quarry material as well as Ask (the first Smiths song I had ever heard).

The middle was a tad slow but it picked up around Let Me Kiss You which people WENT NUTS over trying to grab his shirt. I swear they must've still been trying to get it for a least another five minutes after he threw it. Luckily while they were preoccupied with that I made my way up front and helped this one blonde chick out too from getting trampled. If you know her or are her, tell her I said hello. Haha. Shame I didn't shake his hand though. :(

Cracked a couple jokes about enjoying Kansas City last night but Moz seemed in a good mood and even told us how much he loved St. Louis before the encore...

A lot of people gave him gifts...is this a thing at his shows because the last time I saw him, it made sense since it was his birthday. Oh and on a final note, Walker tears it up live.

  • Solid Show (Score:3, Informative)

This is the first show I've seen on this tour. All around a solid performance. I was surprised to see a lot of the same video clips during the intermission that he used in 2007. Thought he would have picked out some new stuff by now. Anyway, Moz came out in suit and tie, and managed to keep the jacket on through about half the show. Band looking nice in gray pants and black shirts. The sound was great and Moz was on his game. Seemed to be in a good mood. The stage was high up with several security in front, so only a few hand shakes. The mic didn't get handed down at all, and no stage invasion attempts. Some guy in the front row handed a 7" record up for Moz to sign, which he did, but Moz gave him a look like, "you've got to be kidding me" and he flipped the pen back at him as if a little annoyed. He was much more appreciative at the very end when some girls handed up what looked to be a hand drawn picture of him, and he held it up next to him and pointed back and forth at it and himself mouthing, "this is me." Not too much banter, but he got in some local references. He said, "I don't drink Budweiser. Do you? Yes, yes." And, "We had a great time in Kansas City. We had a great time in Kansas City. But we had a great time in St. Louie too." Only one shirt thrown into the crowd. There were two girls that each had a good hold on it, and about 4 other people who had a hand on it too. No one would give it up, and while they were all too nice to actually fight over it, it turned into a rugby scrum with this little circle of people tugging at it and stumbling all around. It was a complete stalemate with no end in sight. This went on for about 5 songs and was still going when the show was over. Security came out and took it away from all of them. No one got it that I could see. How sad. But overall, a great night.

    moving on...
Moz seemed in high spirits. I kinda liked the KC show more tho. tonite seemed like it flew by. hope to make Dallas. I don't understand why people have complained about the tour. I've been going since Your Arsenal. the only problem I've notice with this tour and the others in the last few years is the audience. what happened to crying, hysteria and luv?!? it used to be so crazed. I remember a girl hyperventilating behind me at an arena show back in the day and we were nosebleed seats. nowadays, unless they're right up front, they stare emotionless. why is this?!? why are u even going? Morrissey will be 50 next month and he's crazier than ever. a majority of his audience however seem like thousand year old invalids.

  • Hey all..in reflecting on the Moz's show... The energy was there, but the spontaneous songs just weren't. Compared to last year, seemed like Moz was just plugging for his new album, which is fine, but You gotta throw in the classics too!

Was anyone on this board even here for the Courteeners? These guys put on an absolutely amazing set, Conversation on the way home was these guys rocked even harder than Moz (dare I say this?)

I'd definitely catch these guys from Manchester again..

Anyhow, was a great time out; Moz, you still rock..only hope to see you on tour again though!

Taken from the riverfronttimes review link posted on this page:

" At another point he said, "Of course we're privileged to be in the hometown of the great Kristeen Young." A murmur and then a scream went through the crowd. Moz responded: "Oh, she is here."

  • Great show musically. Unfortunately, unlike 2007, Moz seemed to have his panties in a twist more than usual. Moz, those "Americans" you are referring to are outside of the theatre. The people IN the theatre are of like mind with you, so why do you insist on being so insulting? Anyway, his voice sounded great and the band was awesome. The Courteeners were great - will definitely buy their music.

  • Morrissey could do with some conditioner on his quiff (or what's left of it)....his hair is looking rather coarse & brittle these days. Get some good quality conditioner baby! And these days they can do miracles with the greying hair - unless you want to go for the natural "salt & pepper" look. Which obviously looks very very good on Morrissey. I wouldn't like him to choose a bad hair dye/colour...just in case it goes wrong! He actually looks perfect as he is *now*.

  • I absolutely loved every minute of the St. Louis show. We had 2 people in our group that had never seen a Morrissey show before and they were completely hooked. I thought that The Loop was a definite highlight, if not the hilight of the show. The new songs sounded great and I'm OK By Myself was a real show stopper of a set closer.

I thought that Moz's playful teasing of the crowd/city about Buidweiser and KC-STL was hilarious. I love both so can easily take his ribbing in stride.

I would have liked to have heard Mama Lay Softly On the Riverbed but I really do not have any complaints. I only wish that the show didn't have to end.....

    Thank You Morrissey!

Us kids wrote a formal letter of complaint beseeching the Moz to give us some attention (i came from SF to see this one)we got it to him and at the end of the set( to my great surprise) he approached our group and asked me what we had for him! i was freaking speechless i choked up and he laughed at me. We handed him the picture one of the girls drew. what a blessing he decided to come over and chat with us kids. overall a great show!

  • I had a great time at this show. Moz was great as always but not nearly as personable as usual. Seemed to be in his own world- even more so than usual - more sad than usual - if that's possible. Usually he makes a lot more eye contact. Some fans up front were kind of annoying - handing him so much weird stuff but he took it anyway. It was just annoying to me because they kept holding it up, blocking everyone's view until he finally took it. One moron fan even threw a cd and sharpie on stage. Moz signed it but you could tell he was annoyed and tossed the pen back with a face that said - screw you! lol A nice guy next to me gave him a Ramones vinyl - thought that was cool. He took it and said he already had it lol and flipped it over to read his note and said "bla bla bla bla bla" and gave him a little smile. :)

I had a handful of the shirt but the other two guys were very serious about getting it so I let go and kept my front row spot. It paid off because I got my handshake during the encore - very nice bow and lingering handshake with a bow and a smile - I went home happy. The guys fighting over the shirt were STILL fighting over it when the show was over - very funny. The security gaurd took it last I heard - HA! What's even funnier is that these guys came together and had been travelling together, going to a bunch of shows. Wonder if that will be the last! lol

Anyway, I had a great time - the band was awesome, Moz was awesome. Loved the set list. No complaints. Security wasn't as horrible as everyone was making them out to be. I was up front the whole time and they were nice guys just doing their job and making sure no one made their way on the stage. The crowd was very tame up until the shirt incident. lol
