  • Relaxed Show (Score:2, Informative)

Just back from the Pier 2. He played the same songs again, mixed them up a little bit. For example "Carol" was song no.4 instead of "How soon is now" which he played some songs later.
The crowd was a little bit lame but not bored. Morrissey seemed very relaxed joking around and had a good time. So that´s it for me after the two shows in Manchester and Cologne.
Hope I will see you again in 2011. I love you, Morrissey!

  • Indeed, Morrissey was in a very good mood, although the crowd was pretty shy (but that's very typical in Bremen). He danced (sort of) and laid down theatically on the floor twice. He asked for naughty question, best one was: "When was your last kiss?" - "It's still to come... obviously". He sang most moving, although sometimes quite out of key, but that's touching as well, isn't it?. The band wore grey flannels and shortsleeved white shirts and looked superb. They really rocked hard time. "I keep mine hidden" was surprisingly fresh and sounded great. Also, some changes in lyrics, esp. "Some girls are bigger than others" got new verses, but I can't remember them anymore. Does anybody?

  • Why do they play that Carol Remix on the PA?

  • Not the best crowd. Stood still until "English Heart...". But Morrissey was in very fine form. And the band.

Moz handed the mic to the audience a lot and one woman (not Julia!) asked: "When was your last kiss?" - "It's still to come... obviously", Morrissey replied.

"Some girls are bigger than others" was the highlight. The venue was sold out.

  • The setlist was about the same as in Berlin. He did play "Let me kiss you" though, which was great.
I do have agree that the crowd was a bit lame, but we had a great time and the band and Le Moz seemed to enjoy themselves as well! (As much as you can when you play every night, I guess!)

  • That "when was your last kiss?" question really made me cringe... why do people have to be so embarrassing? It was like some cheesy teenage mag reporter asking... and it was only down to Moz being in a funny mood and being a gentleman that it didn't mess up whole the evening.

Other than that, it was an ok show, though Berlin was much better. But standing in the crowd was rather relaxed, I was second row and I hardly ever touched anyone around me as people were so civilised. Except for this one wanker in the pink flanell and his blonde girlfriend who were pissing everyone off. He was standing with his back to the stage most of the time, how rude can one person be? And how stupid to boot, I mean, hello!, why pay loads of money to go to a show, make the effort of cueing up early to be upfront and then hardly ever look at the artist?!

    What an idiot, honestly.

  • When Morrissey handed the mic, one girl's question was "where do you sleep tonight?" He replied something like "You mean where my bed is? Well... we're going to Denmark"

After the gig I waited outside, saw him go into his bus around half past eleven... and the bus didn't leave for Bremen, but went straight onto the Autobahn towards Hamburg, then Denmark (I know this because I basically had the same route...to Hamburg)

Actually I expected him being picked up by a car, staying in a hotel somewhere... can't belive that during tours he actually LIVES in a tour bus! That's 1986!

He does live in a tour bus. Saw the bus today in Odense in Denmark. Morrissey is staying at the H.C. Andersen Radisson hotel just near Hans Christian Andersens old home.

  • We arrived around 6 at the venue and saw Arturio outsie at the back waiyting with a walkie talkie. I took some pics of him and we hung around. 5 mins later a bmw pulled up with Jennifer, the singer from Doll and the man himself couldnt believe it he was like 2 metres away. I was dumfounded and didnt even get a pic,my friend did but Moz got straight out the car and into the venue, didnt look round. Some German girls were saying Steven Morrissey can i get an autograph? which im sure went down well? then he was gone. I took alot of pics inside the venue esp of the crowd. It was a brilliant concert prob my best. Got to the front with ease. Admittedly the crowd was a little tame. I tried to lift a girl over the barrier at the end but the security were having none of it. Got a handshake from Boz at the end. German people so nice polite and friendly. Just remembered Moz was given a pile of 7" singles which he seemed pleased with and later someone else gave him 1 single on the RAK lable i think. He said he had 2 copies of that?

  • When Morrissey revealed he'd be retiring before reaching 55 some months ago I must admit I was relieved in a way, thinking: yep, though you're still the only one that really matters and I love your new album and all that's the right decision.
I felt like that because I'm always afraid his popularity might be dwindling again and I don't want to see him being derided like he was in the dark days of the 90s again. Does that make sense? I hope so.

But after seing him in Bremen last night and in Berlin on Friday, obvisously enjoying himself up on stage and entertaining us fans as well as a lot of casual gig goers in the best possible way, I think he should reconsider his retirement plans - if they were meant to be taken seriously at all in the first place, who knows. To cut a long story short: Another two glorious nights from the man - and a lot more to come, hopefully. Cheers, Flrn
