  • It was a great night at city hall right at the front! I fulfilled my life long ambition to shake hands with the great Moz, he looked at me as he held my hand and sang "In the absence of your love, and in the absence of human touch" - Wow! I'm still on a high!
He was in good spirits and didn't look tired, a great performance!
    Love you Moz!

No one forces you to go to concerts. me personally would just be grateful to see The Moz is well . So many people post who are not true followers/fans. I await the negative anonymous comments. Viva Moz.

  • Despite the seated venue, this was a very good gig with a great atmosphere, better than the Leeds gig as the sound quality was far superior. An identical setlist from Leeds, but no surprise there. Moz seemed in good spirits throughout and had plenty of banter with the audience. Two people made it very briefly on stage - I got them on film. Will post videos over the weekend. Hello to Sphinx and Ian who I met tonight - lovely people!

  • Venue was great as they let us all rush to the front of the stage were we were just held back by a few guards, the one next to me was a 60 odd year old man who collapsed with the heat, think his name was denis so hope he was orite, the main guard who was a right prick up to that point then went soft on us cause we helped his mate out. Great Set again and Moz seems to be really enjoying these gigs now after his collapse in swindon. 3 handshakes tonight to add to the two in leeds, also nice meeting up with some of the soloers.....lainey, jukebox and No place like rome

  • I brought along a novice Moz gig goer and he loved it. Also had a quick chat with Boz who was on top form. What a lovely guy!

This was the first Moz gig where I was seated (must be getting old) but I enjoyed it nontheless. I think about 8-10 people tried a stage invasion during FOTGTD, but only a couple managed physical contact with the man himself. The rest either got dragged away or pushed back into the crowd. Nice to see the fervour is still there though.

Also thanks for the brief glance upwards and the wonderful facial expression Moz. Good to see you haven't forgotten the fans up in the gods.

What a fucking shite gig! His band is horrible! This is the first time I've seen him and I expected much better. His voice was okay, but the band needs to be fired. Easily the worst band I've seen in my short life. Where does he finds these idiots? He's MORRISSEY, he's a god and living legend, he deserves so much more. He needs a new manager, someone that can hire real, serious, great musicians. I think almost anyone would want to work with him and certainly in England there are better players at the local pub than this awful lot.

  • Absoluely blinding evening and it was easily the best so far for me this year. The band were brilliant the sound seemed very good and most importantly a really great vibe from the croud.

i was originally seated about a third of the way down the right hand side, and managed to run striaght to the front and ended up next to a big black security guard at the front right of the stage in front of the speaker. Got some great pictures which i will post later. Got two handshakes from the man himself and one from each of the band at the end.

After seeing him at RAH earlier this week and the five other gigs this year, what i noticed most is that Moz seemed to be really enjoying himself and there was loads of comunnication between the audience. Boz was pissing himself (laughing a lot) at the end as there were loads of stage invaders - mostly failing dismally like me, is it possible to gracefully get on the stage? One girl took ages to be dragged across, whilst a lad two down from me, must have stayed on the stage for around 40 seconds, he just managed to hold onto people / anything and it took two security guys to get him off in the end.

Not sure but even thought i saw Dickie Felton hanging around the tour bus at the end - a perfect evening :-)

Long may Moz continue as we will miss him when he's gone.

  • What a show! Moz walked on stage and posed the wuestion 'Can you handle it?' to which there was a resounding cry of yes and the concert was on. I had row b stalls tickets and was able to move to the front middle of the stage. Everyone down there was friendly and brilliant, there was a real feeling of community. Moz was on great form, seemingly very happy, teasing the crowd and cracking jokes. After Ganglord he asked 'But where is the ghetto?' after many suggestions he finally decided that it was in 'Pontefract'. He said he was happy to be baack here in Sheffield and called himself 'the city whore'. Our attempts to get people on stage during the encore had been planned but sadly no one was able to get even close and that blue shirt, which I had a good grip on for ages, must have been made out of Sheffield steel as it would simply not rip. All in all a superb concert with Morrissey in brilliant voice, microphone lashing, playful form.

  • Crikey!
The LEAST they could be doing are some more songs from the Fookin' album the TOUR is named after. Where is "My Dearest Love", "Munich Air Disaster" or "Children in Pieces"? Instead we get the same tired-arse set. "First of the Gang to Die" has become the same tired warhorse that "Everyday is like Sunday" had become. The Least Morrissey and the band could do is EARN my forty pounds. They should have conducted a few rehearsals and learned and added some NEW songs to the setlist!

I've been to loads of Moz gigs and this one was up there as one of the top nights I've had. Brilliant sound and atmosphere. Moz seemed on top form despite his ealier health concerns.
I couldn't cope with staying at my seat, it just didn't seem right, so I somehow managed to make my way down to the front.
I met some top people down at the front, and with their help they got me on stage, thankyou so much! No chance of hugging Moz though as I was soon taken off by security, who weren't rough at all this time. Hello to the bloke from Cornwall who followed me shortly afterwards onto the stage and who helped me get back into the City Hall after we got turfed outside. Woop woop...I'm still buzzing!!!
Lastly, thanks to the girl who looked after my scarf I hope it's keeping you warm :-)

  • Second ever Moz gig (only other was Glasto on the Quarry tour). Didn't cry this time but awesome all the same. Moz, the crowd and venue were all great. And everyone (stalls at least) stood up for the whole gig... very relieved about that! Moz was on good form and seemed very happy (and healthy!) and attentive to the crowd - not seen many artists give such attention to their audience. [Credit to the girl who managed to hug him during the encore! Commiserations to the girl who snuck round the side of the stage, ran on and was dragged back by two security!]. The strobed, almost breakcore reworking of How Soon Is Now probably the highlight. The band were really tight on the solo stuff (loved the gong!) but I found some of the Smiths material almost unconfortable to hear - Cemetry Gates was a hatchet job - almost murdered! These are delicate works of art that don't lend themselves to rockabilly. Had an awesome time though and good to meet some much more dedicated Moz fans in The Old House later on.

  • OMG! what a gig!

Ok, let's set the scene. It started with very nice seats toward the front (great start!) and then went rapidly downhill when just before the start this 60-year old big used-to-be-a-bouncer type chap shouted to us "get back to your seats. It's not happening tonight" but in a rather unfriendly way, almost spoiling for a fight. I'd like to say he was just doing his job but it was just really unpleasant and not necessary. I couldn't help but feel he really was looking for an excuse to smack someone. Twat.

    Ok...then it got better...!

As soon as the intro music started he disappeared we literally just ran to the front with no bother at all.

At the front throughout, with my hands (and ribs - ouch!) on the woodwork, I got to shake Mozzers hand not once but twice!. The first time I grabbed it and put his hand in between my pair, feeling a rather big ring on his finger. I held on for no longer than it was polite to, and then returned him to the safety of the stage and other people who were about to get lucky. The second time was a little more fleeting, but was somewhat unexpected (but appreciated!). The tears were rolling down my face. Just amazing!! :-D

During FOTGTD I managed to get on the stage, made a move towards Moz who was on the right of the stage but I was quickly hauled off stage rear by two of the man-handlers - one grabbing each arm and pulling me back on my arse! LOL. I didn't put up a massive fight to be fair - I was too far away, and I'd had my fun:- and in return they were gentle with me. Got shown out the back of the stage and met up with M23 and a girl who I did not recognise.

Had to watch the end of the encore on youtube tonight but hell it was worth it, no question :-) lol

Thank you Morrissey - you made this boy (very) happy xx
