Hello everyone,
Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that Film Threat has just released an article naming the indie film "My Life With Morrissey" one of the "top ten films without distribution".
Distributor interest in the film has been brisk for both international and domestic rights, and everyone who emailed us should look forward to seeing the film sometime in 2003.

  • All very nice. Are the makers of this film trying to divert more traffic to your website or are are they instilling in us the desire to sit on hot coals next year until this darling hits the screen? I've heard from a few sources that its not very good, but the website gives little info on what the film exactly is about - and the section with the clips was empty.

Has anyone not engaged in the mighty PR machine for this film seen it, and can tell us about it?

What I think is slightly outrageous is that other vaguely commercial posters (like promoters of various Smiths/Mozza nights) are relegated to the sponsors site, while someone quite shamelessly wallows in self-praise on the announcement site. In the light of thatt, I guess I'd rather go and spot Mozza in 'The Two Towers' now.

    • I met the Producer/Writer/Dirctor the night I saw a rough cut of the film- and wrote a review then, with a recent update for the final version:

I really did enjoy the film- and I'm actually not on anyone's PR payroll or anything- although I must say the film is admittedly trashy and offensive in just about every way possible. There is utterly no redeeming social value to the film - and I think that was the point: just to have a lot of campy fun with the idea of an obbsessed Moz fan gone overboard...

      cheers

  • From the all to brief clip of the film on that "These Things Take Time" documentary I have to say it did look horribly embarassing, but you never know.
Hope fully it will be good, but I for one will watch it regardless of reviews and what the so-called "experts" say.
