According to Wayahead, the support for the Birmingham NIA gig is PJ Harvey.

There is no support currently mentioned for Brighton or Earls Court.

Good stuff.

  • Thats a pretty major coup, that will make the gig even more special

  • I don't recall her even mentioning Moz before. Not that it matters. She'll be great.

  • I wish Morrissey and P.J Harvey would have a love child.....spawned from a carry on style cupboard romp. That really would be an extrodinary kid, the teenage years would be especially challenging i'm sure.

A great support act btw...i was worried The Thrills might rear their heads again, any body remember The Supernaturals by any chance?

  • Now that will be one amazing gig. PJ is a musical goddess.

    BUT...
Would Moz really have support from someone who supposedly said "I live for the hunt" or something similar?

  • Does anyone know how Glasgow, Birmingham and London are selling?

Any sold out completely yet? I'm interested because I do think 20,000 odd seats will be hard to flog before Christmas. Hope he does it.

  • You've probably all worked this out for yourself but the four UK gigs will notch up 45,000 paying punters!

    Brighton - 5,000
    London - 19,000
    Glasgow - 8,000
    Birmingham - 13,000

I've just been to the venue's websites and those are the figures for standing concerts.

Perhaps this one reason for big name support acts? That's a LOT of tickets to sell to less hardcore fans who might have already seen him a couple of times this year in better venues.

    Still, he'll do it. Probably.
  • For anyone who is interested I have just called the main ticket vendor in the UK (see tickets/wayahead).

I spoke to a nice gentleman called Mark and he confirms that they have had confirmation from both parties, that PJ Harvey will support Morrissey at the NIA in Birmingham on December 14th 2004.

There is also an article on Morrissey's mini site at NME.com that also verifies this.

So, it looks like the extremely unlikely is infact going to become reality. (for the moment at least)

  • Morrissey and PJ Harvey together??? Fuck, that is my perfect lineup and I won't be there to witness it! I am seeing PJ in December so that is quite a nice consolation but still...

Anyway according to someone on the pjharvey.net boards, in a recent interview Polly said she'd support Moz on the last three dates of his UK tour. I can't find this interview anywhere though.

  • I've got my ticket. This is a dream line up.

If some people can't understand how adults can have differing political opinions but still have musical repect for each other, I suggest you disappear until you are a bit older...

Pollys music is fabulous. Perfect appetiser to The Great Man.
