I help out with my girlfriend's Evan Dando fansite, and have recently been checking out several bootlegs from his Lemonheads days.

Couldn't help but laugh to come across a live acoustic version of Mrs Robinson from the early 90s, the last minute of which sees Evan dropping in his take on How Soon Is Now?.

It's available to download from the site for the next couple of weeks. Note, however, that the file is only available to the site's forum members. To access it, follow the "download" link from the www.evandando.co.uk homepage.

  • Dear Friends,

I think Evan Dando is extremely underrated. He is very talented.

I understand he has struggled with drug addiction, and that he has tried to make it as a solo artist.

Here are my 2 cents worth on Evan Dando- but is it true he was named one of America's most beautiful people in the world by a magazine at one time???

    Anyway-

I am not fond of the Lemonheads (per se), but their last album "Car Button Cloth" has to be one of the best CD's of the 90's... ever! This CD and it's packaging are incredible. The songs are incredible (with maybe two exceptions-)

A very moving piece- I highly recommend it. Lyrically, it is very beautiful- musically it shines.

There is a very interesting song called "C'Mon Daddy"- this song is one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. Give it a try and tell me what you think.

    Sorry for rattling.

    With love,

    Ken Stavitzke

  • Anyone remember them playing at Minsthorpe High School in West Yorkshire in about 1992? That was strange.
