Picked up a free copy of Brits 25 magazine whilst in HMV today.Nice Sanctuary advert for Moz congratulating him on "garnering " 4 Top 10 hits last year.

Also I am reading the Suede book "Love and Poison" at the moment Plenty of Morrissey and Marr references but one thing I didn't know is Mike Joyce auditioned to be their drummer in the early days and helped them out a bit

  • Yeah I saw that too. Sanctuary are such suck ups.

  • This is not aimed directly at the posts already placed here but I just wanted to say in response to the "sanctuary are suck ups" comment that Sanctuary are doing what they are expected to do, promoting the artist! Remember the Southpaw fiasco where the record label probably were probably not even aware that they had Morrissey signed! Well that album died a death commercially. Moz has a label now that pushes his wares forward to the general public and therefore ensures that a market place is ready for the music, hence 4 top ten singles, a huge selling album and a very sucessful tour.

I sometimes despair of the Morrissey public, not you guys in particular, but those who have had a swipe at Sanctuary in previous posts. Morrissey has been pushed forward back in to the public eye by the label and its management, therefore I personally think we have something to thank them for. Maybe some of the exposure has been a tad too great but I would rather have this feast than the famine that surrounded "Southpaw" and "Maladjusted", both of which deserved so much more.
