My friends in a band named Teaneck were playing at the Roxy tonight but I was unable to go and watch them. While I was home my friend called me and said that Morrissey was there... I ran into every wall in my apt. trying to get to the front door. Morrissey was sitting in a booth with a man and a woman - watching the bands. The table directly next to him opened-up and I sat down next to him. I introduced myself as politely as I could (I wanted to be as little a bother as possible) - I asked him if he could sign something and then asked if I could get a photo. He pleasantly agreed to both. My face in the photo tells exactly what I was thinking.

    And a camera.

    And a gold marker pen.

    And a list of questions.

The rolled-up piece of paper on the table - Moz was rolling that between his fingers and holding it like a lil' cigarette....I took it after he left - I have it.

I don't know who the people were - obviously friends.

The look on my face is the look of meeting the biggest influence in your life and knowing that you will never be this close to them again.

And finally. Yes, he WAS holding a gun to me - I have that also.

  • THAT is an EPIC story. But let me tell you something: It's not the story itself that is funny, it's the picture. I mean, the story means nothing without that. Hilarious.

I want to say something else: Any time you can get a sig from someone you admire is great. Hell, i'd take Moz's sig (if I didn't have it already) on a paper napkin with a pencil instead of nothing at all. But you gotta be careful with those silver markers. I've meet a few celebrities and gotten some sigs from athletes, and my experience with them is not good. The silver ink is thicker than your traditional black or blue so after it dries, the chances are higher that it will break off. Now, it's been some years since i've autograph hunted so things may have changed. As far as I know, Mark, you may want to take extra care of that cd book. Not that you were going to wipe your mouth with it or anything, but I would frame it immediately. I mention this not really for Mark, but for any of you clones want your "Moddiccby" and have the time to get a pen or marker and cd, you won't make the same mistake I did before.

Lastly, instead of baiting some of the primates of this website with a worthless observation, i'll give you ALL a chance to vote for the best caption for
  • Moz
  • and our boy Mark:

    Moz:

A.) (With his trademark 'bored' Mancunian
drawl) "Erm...have you taken the picture
                already?"

B.) "You didn't seem that big standing up"

C.) "It's not a pen, and i'm not happy to see
                you..."

D.) "Is this the chap they call...Limp Bizkit?"

    Mark:

A.) "I gotta tell my mom"

    B.) "Brroooooo...how do I tell him I already
                have a girlfriend?"

C.) "Is he trying to grab my ass or the chair??"

    D.) "I shouldn't have had the chili at Tommy's"
