  • Barat was clearly the talent behind the Libertines and he's got some brilliant bands on there as well as The Smiths.

      Noooooooo it's not true!
Take a proper listen to Babyshambles, Pete is such an amazing lyricist, unfortunately his drug habit has created a lot of stigma surrounding him, but it doesn't make him any less of a poet.

Together though they were the ultimate combination & it makes me sad that it all fell apart.

Nah, i think they'll sort it out now, Pete's off the drugs & it was probably a misunderstanding anyway, Morrissey cited The Libertines as a band that could go down in the history books, i doubt he's going to be that rude, & if he had such a huge problem with him i doubt he'd play on the same day as them. I predict cups of tea around the radiator & limp hand-shaking galore.

If people carry on being so negative about it then he's going to find it harder, his fans should be supporting him, not doubting him. If i had a problem & people expected me to fail, then i'd probably doubt the point in it all, self-fulfilling prophecies have a lot of leeway in situations like this!

It's my personal opinion anyway, when he got kicked out of the libertines his drug-taking escalated & threw him further in to depression, it obviously doesn't work with him.

Yes, I recognise that Pete IS a genius! But he fucked up, and that's why I love Carl...I feel sorry for him and the position he is in. Carl and Pete obviously love each other so much, and it is so sad that they have been torn apart by the drugs. A relationship like theirs should never end (ahem! Morrissey and Marr!). I'm hoping that Pete's implant will work, and that they can be happy again! But will this happen?! After all the pain, is it possible to go back to how they were?

I love Carl because he seems like a nice bloke, I have less respect for Pete because of the trouble he has caused (and yes, I do understand it is difficult for him too, so hard for him to stop. I'm not completely blaming him, but, come on- he is responsible for himself.)

  • Before people slag Pete off too much, Pete was actually the person who introduced Carlos to The Smiths, if it weren't for him he wouldn't have a clue who Morrissey is (well, he probably would, but i doubt he'd have given him a proper listen).

Then again, Pete wouldn't be able to play the guitar if it weren't for him, & then 'up the bracket' wouldn't exist (what a horrible thought). Fair swap i think!

  • Some people are too much with their judgements and comments. If you like Pete listen to Pete. If you like Carl listen to Carl. Let what happens happen already. You all sound like a bunch of old women(no offense women).

  • He's trying so hard to be credible isn't he? Poor lamb.

Bigmouth should never be on anyone's all-time Smiths list, let alone their all-time records list.

It's a nice enough pop song, and the guitars are great, but I mean it's not exactly There is a Light, or Paint a Vulgar Picture is it?
