Morrissey's myspace page put out a bulletin today with the following message :

Order the new album, Ringleader of the Tormentors, before it's in stores for just $9.99 by going here or get it with an exclusive t-shirt for just $24.99!

here is the link to the preorder site.

i think the t-shirt is well worth it...

give up life as a bad mistake.
  • The cost for regular shipping-that is, 8 to 10 days after the release date is $8.00! To receive it on the release date, shipping is $16.00! I ordered the CD and T-Shirt and later called and cancelled it. I won't get the T-Shirt from Amazon, but I sure won't pay these ripoff shipping fees.

  • April 4 has always been a memorable date for me. I was 10 when MLK was assasinated on that date. I remember watching black and white tv when they broke in with a special news bulletin to report his death. It was a sad day.

I'm glad to have a happy April 4 to look forward to this year. I just came from Morrisseymusic where I preordered my moz fix. I paid for the express shipping so I can have my CD and t shirt on release day.

i admit that i listen to illegal morrissey downloads so i am happy to be able to order legit stuff and send some dough morrissey's way. hope he makes a bundle on the new album.

i propose that all us moz fans wear our new ROTT shirts that day. 4/4/06 (I love how the date is the same whether you write it in American or British custom. so clever).

and as for me, I stand with the tribe of Morrissey.

Ha ha ha ha ha. Whilst I love the idea of the t-shirt that is not how an outline would be drawn at a crime scene. Spot the mistake!! The right (or left as we look at it) arm resting across the stomach wouldn't be drawn in would it! Hopeless! Why don't they draw a nice little nose and tattoo whilst they're at it. Ha ha ha ha!

  • This promo is a very tasty offer that dropped into my email today from Morrissey-music, but not being in USA, it’s out of reach. Pity there’s not a European shop.

I can only find 2 pictures on the myspace site which all of us presumably now acknowledge as authentic. Interestingly, the unusual black and white photograph there of Morrissey with the greyhound looks like it’s off the same roll as the new one on the ROTT1972 blogspot, of Morrissey strolling by a grassy embankment, which also now displays tour details and a link to the band’s official TTY website. Because it exudes artistic cleanliness I believe in its validity.

Not only that, but by accident, I know that Broken isn’t behind it. Despite his obsession with Morrissey, Broken has significantly damaged the chances of acceptance of ROTT1972. Broken, the scourge has admitted to being schizo in the past and has sprayed some fantastical, obscene and misleading nonsense in our midst as well as admittedly, some fair and well-formed comments. However, my chance information makes me 100% sure that, despite his and his alias’ gleeful amusement in people’s confusion and immature lack of responsibility for the consequences of his actions, he did not author that site. I am generally suspicious of people who say ‘please trust me on this one’ but if you’re like that too, I ask you to make an exception this time. In so far as none of us know who personally compiles Morrisseymusic, myspace-morrissey, TruetoYou, ROTT.com, I think ringleaderofthetormentors1972.blogspot.com is as much Morrissey’s as any of these credible sources. It may even have been the closest thing to a peace offering with Moz-solo that has happened in recent years, which makes the dismissal of its burnt-out audience all the more regrettable.

So decide for yourselves. Ye Yankees, enjoy the cool T-shirts!

  • I don't know why you all can't order it abroad. I live in Australia and my order went through fine, just like the last Morrissey pre-sale did.

  • I called and asked about the dates of shipping and they said that the item(s) will be shipped out on March 31. I you paid for the 2 day shipping it will come either Monday or Tuesday the 4th. The only bummer here is that I wanted to get the one with the dvd, but I guess I will have to buy that seperate.

  • Sales of these won't count toward any charts will they? i know it's not terribly important, but if it were me, i'd want chart success leading to more sales.

  • In 2004, the Virgin Megastores offered up the IBEH vinyl single as a pre-order tantalizer for YATQ. Has anyone heard of a similar scheme with You Have Killed Me this time out?

    Cheers,

  • that shirt is emabrassingly bad- ugly and corny and not even making sense.

how difficult would it have been to simply make a black t-shirt with the picture of Moz and the violin on the front and the blue header on the back? simple, easy, and a beautiful shirt.

but instead the uninspired no-talents at moz-merch central attempt to be creative and design one of the poorest, saddest items of clothing ive ever seen. fine enough to wear to sleep or beneath a sweater perhaps (assuming its at least well cut with a close and neat collar), but nothing more.
