On the Danny Baker radio show today, BBC London 94.9, guest Nancy Sinatra said that she received an email from Morrissey this morning. Baker asked her when was the last time someone brought her a song to record. She replied that 'Let Me Kiss You' by Morrissey was the last occasion. She added that he had emailed her this morning with his new email address and had said that he was not impressed by the Oscars ceremony which he's watched last night. "We all love Morrissey, right?" she added.

  • as he lives and breathes, we hear more words from the great one. Contemporaneously, no less. thank you Nancy for that tidbit.

I thought with Jon Stewart hosting, Morrissey might take a little interest in the show last night. seems he did. all the celebrity glamour shit was too much to take at times, but I do think Crash was a great script. as was Hustle and Flow. and who can let a chance to see Terrance Howard, pass by. I watched just to see him. and hear Stewart's jokes. we are so hard up for any "leftist humour" here in the states, JS is about as critical as we can get. I like when he mentions the republicans, with disrespect and contempt. hope the rest of the world does realize that there are a lot of people here in the US that despise Bush. we're being held hostage. anyway, I thought JS could have put more political teeth in his comments.

wonder what Morrissey thought about Crash? it is one depiction of LA, and he does know that city fairly well and has made his views of the police force known.

I hope Morrissey is staying in California again. not the LA scene though. I hope he won't paint California all with the same brush. SoCal is the home of some of the most "plastica" people in the world. but the state also has some of the most beautiful landscapes the earth has to offer. and regions that look like Tuscany. Its pure selfishness on my part, but I hope Moz has not given up on CA as his home. please moz, come back to California and we'll be good.

  • It looks like Moz changes email addresses as much as he changes phone numbers!

(He must've been mad at himself for giving that stupid MOJO reporter his email address. Maybe the guy was inundating him with even more 'follow-up' questions, and he couldn't handle it, lol..)

  • She was on radio 4 this morning too, around 10 am i think, on Woman's Hour i presume...
Morrissey and 'Let Me Kiss You' were brought up and she said the first time that they met was in london in 1995 when she was staying in london.

He rang her up and said, 'hello, this is morrissey' and asked if he could visit her, saying that he was a real fan of hers.
She said he turned up and gave her a great big hug and brought loads of things for her to sign - you could tell he really was a true fan, she said. She went on to say about the 'if you want to be in the British charts again, i have a song for you etc.' story re. LMKY. Not much else. She mentioned email. That he was very sweet and i think maybe that he was 'the love of her life', but i might just be making that bit up.. hmm.

Not very enlightening but nice to hear him referenced on the radio all the same!

I would love to hear Moz do Desert Island Discs, that would be so fascinating and entertaining!

Anyway, back to the essay grind.. tsk tsk

    Laters my luvvers x
