Morrissey has achieved his first ever UK number 1; well on the Woolworth's singles chart! The chart is compiled before sales begin so is a bit of a guess but tends to be accurate to within 2 or 3 places. The Streets are at number 2.

'You Have Killed Me' is number 1 in Woolworths in their singles chart on its week of release. The Steets are at number 2. Hope it has a very good reflection on the official UK singles chart this Sunday. 'Irish Blood...' got a high entry on both charts last time round, Number 3 in both. Morrissey also has 2 albums in the top ten of the Woolworths' budget album chart and the Smiths has one in the top ten of that chart also.

  • There's a compilation I didn't know existed, and that it can be a fairly accurate bellwether for further afield. If there's any justice in the world, the only real competition would be from Pink. The Streets' song is poor, though I did find 'Fit..' very entertaining, partly probably because of the novelty value. Where did Ne-Yo come out of, with quite an average tune? It's looking pretty good then for Morrissey's new single. I think we'd all be nearly as happy as he for it to hit the number 1 spot, while the album has perhaps even a better chance. Wonder how the Album Chart show recording went today, and if he was up to an appearance there...

  • Do NOT post any midweek chart places for the current single as if the powers that be find out he will be barred for that weeks chart. Some group a few weeks/months ago were due to go in the charts quite high but people on the discussion board put out the midweek chart place and it was barred from entry.
