Press release from Girlie Action regarding TMZ.com articles - true-to-you.net

17 April 2008

TMZ.com erroneously reported that Morrissey was photographed dining at the STK steak house in Los Angeles in an article posted on Tuesday that called his lifelong commitment to vegetarianism and animal rights into question. STK representative Henry Eshelman states, "Morrissey never dined at STK nor did we report that he did, but as a matter of policy, of course, STK welcomes him and vegetarians of all stripes. There's loads of vegetarian options: roasted beet, organic arugula and hearts of romaine salads; nine vegetable options from sautéed maitake mushrooms to parmesan truffle fries; mac and cheese, and on and on." Also, in an article posted on Wednesday, TMZ.com erroneously alluded to a disagreement between Morrissey and PETA who remain mutual supporters and admirers.

  • He ordered lamb chops and washed it down with a veal milkshake
Then he wiped his mouth on a seal fur napkin and kicked a puppy on the way home

  • Sounds like Julia's trying to get herself a free gift certificate by allowing a quote that sounds like a commerical for STK.

  • But Morrissey's camp did say he would never dine in a restaurant that served meat, whilst Peta said it was okay for vegetarians to dine in a restaurant that served meat, that's correct?

Which isn't to suggest that Morrissey and Peta aren't 'mutual admirers' but it does seem Morrissey differs from the Peta party line on this.

  • do vegetarians spend their meal plans actively avoiding meat but then eat a meat free sausage that is clearly designed in the form of the very thing they are actively trying to discredit? Soya 'meat', Quorn 'chicken', the list goes on. Can anybody shed light on this because it baffles me. I could compare it to myself as a man declaring myself gay and buying a blow up doll with tits and a vagina! Who cares if Morrissey ate at this place. would you really care if it was the case? Most veggies I know of, including Moz, are grossly overweight and not a good advertisement for vegetarianism being good for anybody!

  • More concerned about being pictured beside a steakhouse than supporting israel.

Friends in high places, ie peta glams mean more than those in oppressed.
    What went wrong mate?

  • I'm sure if he did frequent a steakhouse he wouldn't be seen eating meat, far too savvy for that one.

My concern is his non excuse for frequenting israel.

just me or is anyone else disgusted?

  • We have two main brands of sardines in the supermarket , 'Bruinswick' and 'Clover Leaf'. when freshly opened , the Bruinswicks have the "real" fishy odor-that is the only good part about them. They are much cheaper than the 'Clover leaf' brand , but I seldom buy them because they taste too raw for me. However , when my girl's vagina smells "Bruinswick", I don't hesitate to plumb it's pleasures in all ways imaginable. Her huggy hole smells different on many occasions , but Bruiswick is one of my favs.

My only wish is the like of paul weller or andy rourke had put it to better use than self sacrilegious self serving selfish ones.

  • mmmm- Parmesan truffle Fries. I don't know what they are, but I would easily go into STK to try them. I haven't eaten meat in twenty years and don't plan to, but I have to admit when food sounds good. I hate when meat-eating friends drag me into meat-oriented restaurants, but it happens. At least STK didn't respond with some bitchy 'What did we do? They guy was never even here?' comment. Their (un-necessary) response was nothing short of polite. Most of the people on here could learn something from them.
