Morrissey presents Legend award to Cafe Tacuba on MTV Latin American Awards

Morrissey has just appeared in the MTV Latin American awards presenting the "Leyenda" (legend) award to the Mexican group Cafe Tacuba. As Morrisey got presented the audience got nuts!!, screams were everywhere and the Cafe Tacuba members almost were in tears, it seems they didn't know who was going to deliver the award.

          In their speech Cafe Tacuba thanked Mozzer w/o naming him. They said "We'd like to thank those that influenced us.."(pointing to Mozzer) and of course they thanked their fans.

            Hm, I thought one of the things that Mozzer said the most when he did interviews for "Refusal" was that all awards should be banned and that awards are "destroying music, almost".

                            Cafe Tacvba have always been Morrissey´s fan (Score:2, Informative)
                            Ever since Cafe Tacvba began their career (around 20 yrs ago) they always said that their biggest influences were british rock artists such as The Smiths.... Some of their members even had bands that covered smiths songs... You just look the hairdo of two of them and they are very Morrissey alike, when Moz was more into the rockabilly look..... I think that they may have shitted their pants when they saw that morrissey was there presenting their award....
                            You should listen to Cafe Tacvba, 100% percent original music.....

                                      They be Morrissey/Smiths fans but half of the fans in the room just looked blank like 'Que es? Prince Charles? Pendeco! Donde esta Pedro Enfante?!!'

                                      Sometimes the whole Morrissey/Mexican thing is just overrated. I was in Mexico recently and only a handful of people, maybe about 5 people, that I met had actually heard of him or knew the most popular songs.

                                      It can be overrated.

                                                    but I have a Latino/South American heritage anyways, I feel flattered and thankful that Morrissey has done a wonderful job of validating Latinos on occasions like these. If you ever read this post, thank you, Morrissey. You have never been, for a long time, confined to the British/European world and pop music. Last Night When I Spoke To Carol and Mexico are two songs that prove that.
