Hi, not sure if this is relevant to this site but this girl has a pretty cool idea. she's singing every Smiths song and she has a pretty good voice too. I found out about it through last.fm because she posted a link in a morrissey forum. not sure it it's news worthy but it's interesting!

  • She holds her notes too long and it ends up sounding like she's trying too hard. With a proper musical track backing her up, she would sound much better. Still, its a unique project and these are better than most covers out there.

  • i mean no disrespect but this is the least newsworthy story i can remember seeing here. youtube etc is smothered in smiths/moz/everyone-else covers - good, bad, pro, amateur. it's not news just because of the volume of covering the lot. pre-web the public platform for such a pointless project didn't exist.

  • I rather liked the WDYFOFY version. Bravo, I say. A very lush interpretation and I love the way she sings her 'r's.

    But my, she needs to add something to the early Smiths melodies; they are very sparse and rather Gregorian and in need of her harmonies.

    Anyway - all power to your elbow; you're an inspiration.
