On the German Rolling Stone website Paul Van Dyk mentions his Top 10 Songs. Since "Hand In Glove" is the first one he mentions and there is no alphabetical order it should be his most favourite song.

The list:

The Smiths - "Hand In Glove"
New Order - Blue Monday"
Filo & Peri feat. Aruna - "Ashley"
Giuseppe Ottaviani - "No More Alone"
Alex M.O.R.P.H. feat. Ana Criado - "Sunset Boulevard"
Editors - "Munich"
Kings of Leon - "Reverly"
The Killers - "Human"
Lily Allen - "The Fear"
Marit Larsen - "If A Song Could Get Me You"

  • I am not really that keen on the sort of trance Paul Van Dyk makes, but he has certainly been on top of his game for a very long time and extremely popular throughout Europe.
He is also one of the more eloquent DJs and taken a genuine stance on vaious social issues.

Interesting that he should pick Hand in Glove and fair enough ... but strange Lily Allen's song should be on the same play list.

  • Yeah, Lily's awful, but then again so are the Killers and other bands on the list.

Although, I'm a little surprised that Jean-Jacques Smoothie 'Two People' wasn't on the list, and Modjo's 'Lady Hear Me Tonight'.

  • I remember reading years ago that Paul Van Dyke was really upset when the Smiths broke up in 1987.
Lily Allen The Fear and New Order Blue Monday, both brilliant and clever songs. Of course Hand in Glove is to, but you know that already!
