The Durutti Column’s Vini Reilly suffers ‘minor stroke,’ is ‘well on the road to recovery’ - slicing up eyeballs
Vini Reilly, best known for his guitar work on Morrissey's debut album Viva Hate and accompanying b-sides, suffered a 'minor' stroke a few days ago. The Mancunian songwriter, who is the leader behind UK act Durutti Column, is said to be on the road to recovery and is scheduled to record a new album in the upcoming weeks.

Very strange, I was listening to his work all weekend, and hadn't for maybe a year before then.

Always wanted to hear a proper collaboration between you and Morrissey after the success of Viva Hate. I'm sure a string of albums between you two would have taken us on a much different adventure throughout the '90s.

Keir Stewart is doing the remastering. He doesn't play around with the loudness and compression argument which has plagued 99% of remasters these days, so this reissue is going to be good. I also recommend picking up TDC's Four Factory Records box set which was released last year via Kooky Records.
