HOW TO BUY...MORRISSEY AND THE SMITHS! - MOJO

The people must be heard!
---
Excerpt:

So with the understanding that band and singer will never be free of eachother, a double-headed How To Buy challenge: what are the best Morrissey and Smiths albums? Are all the Smiths records better than Morrissey's? (Answer - no) What's the best Smiths LP, Strangeways Here We Come or The Queen Is Dead? What's Mozzer's best record? Vauxhall And I? Viva Hate? Which comps or live sets are vital? And is anyone going to give it up for Kill Uncle? Tell us, please.

As ever, the best comments and recommendations will appear in the magazine. Cheers!

  • Dear Ian (Mojo)- Please write your own article for your tedious Beatles fanzine. It is irrelevant (And only slightly better than Q and there's a curse). That is my 5pence worth and you make keep the change.

  • i'm glad it was put out there, i added a comment becuase it is good to know 'how to' get in to moz and smiths music because personally if some one wanted to check out moz music and asks for my opinion i would definately not recomend buying 'swords' or 'years of refusal' unless they've heard his great classics or tell them how great the smiths are and have them buy 'rank' and not like the live versions of smiths classics but that my opinion and that only if the person is a new to the moz/smith scene

  • These two albums got me into the Smiths and Morrissey. So I have to out them at the top. Sure there were better albums but I would have never listened to them had it not been for these two.
