An anonymous person writes:
Andrew Marr (British political journalist and presenter) announced on his breakfast discussion show this morning that Morrissey will be appearing on the programme next week.

It appears that an interview will be taking place, and likely a performance also, as the show is typically played out by a musician in the studio.

His page on the BBC home site can be found here.

  • ...so Morrissey and Marr team up once more...and they said it would never happen!
But seriously folks, and for the benefit of our yankee pals, Marr is bound to ask about 'the race' issue 'if' there is an interview, which I very much doubt there will be...he's no Paxman but a solid enough pro and wouldn't let the opportunity slip by...'expect I flippent 'pat' response along the lines of 'it's just impossible...etc'

  • Will be nice to at least hear from the man again, although I suspect those expecting him to make some big announcement about this, that or the other, will be disappointed. Did he ever really make any big announcements via a radio show (as a guest)? I know some live dates have been leaked via Janice Long and stuff, but I don't remember him personally ever making any announcements on the air. Although that could just be my memory.

  • No interview please (Score:2, Interesting)

Morrissey would be well advised to avoid becoming involved in an interview with Andrew Marr.

Unlike the sycophantic slag Ross he won't be allowed to breeze by talking about non-issues or the good old days.

I cannot imagine for one moment that Morrissey will be interviewed here...he just wouldn't come out of it unscathed. Marr is a serious journalist who would ask serious questions and expect serious answers.

    I'm worried!

I cannot see this personally, if you look at the BBC webstite and preview the show it says that Marr is live at the conservative conference, and I cant see Morrissey turning up for that

You can watch this week's show again on BBC iPlayer and Andrew Marr does indeed say that he will 'be talking to Morrissey' on next week's show - I reckon a short pre-recorded piece with topics selected in advance by Moz that will be kept fairly bland and controversy-free. Really can't see Moz being in the same town as the Conservative Party Conference - the poor man would wilt.

  • Ah...I'm such a fan of Andrew Marr. I get quite nostalgic about how good he was as the BBCs's political correspondent. And now I fume and mutter incoherently every time Nick "Should Have Gone To Specsavers" Robinson opens his mouth and gives us the benefit of his wisdom.

It's time to dig out the worry-beads for the line-up next weekend: unpredictable to watch/listen, but impossible to turn away.

He'd be on solid ground with subjects such as music, current and future releases, and his spotify list; tour plans; studio/band situation; his love for his fans!! What else?
