Booky Wook 2

Well, I've got it here, and it's quite jolly. Nearly all the permissions are to quote from Smiths songs; the chapter on the death threats is hilarious; nice picture of him trying to get into Morrissey's mind; the whole Opportunity Sucks chapter is a must for Moz fans - the e-mails back and forth are hilarious. Each picture has a link to an audio commentary - here's the Morrissey one.

...I don't want to spoil the book for you, but I must tell you about one of the best Morrissey-related quotes I've ever read. After the 'Wrestle With Russell" recording....

"...(Morrissey) sent me a beautiful basket of fruit. The grapes formed a glorious centrepiece in an orgy I was involved with that day, inspiring the unforgettable line 'I can't believe I've had a Morrissey grape in my ass!'. I informed Morrissey of this titbit via email. 'That's not the first time I've heard that', he responded.

Additionally, it's been reported that Morrissey was at the book launch party on Thursday, Sep. 30. Kewpie sends the link to the posts in the same forum thread (via Morrissey reddit).

By MurderBallads:
Ok, this may or may not be true but one of my friends is at Russel's book launch thing tonight, and has text me saying Moz is there. His exact words were "Morrissey is sat about fifteen metres to my right". So either this is an elaborate wind up by my friend which I doubt - he's not going to bother doing that in the middle of a night out, or Moz is healthy, happy, out and about and *gasp* enjoying himself! If this turns out to be true can we put the 'Morrissey is at death's door' rumours to bed once and for all?

Try not to rip me to shreds if this turns out to be crap though?

Confirmed: Morrissey did attend Russell Brand's book launch.

  • . . . crass in the extreme. How horrible and rude.
Why would Morrissey wish to send another basket of fruit; to have his gift so . . . insulted and 'cheapened' in the deluded name of 'mirth'?

I'm madly in love with Morrissey. I just prefer to think of him as anatomically similar to a Ken doll.

It's funny, because he inspires a rather non-sexual (yet passionate) love in me, and many of my hetero male friends.

  • Ass? ass? ARSE you jumped up rubbish Mockney Essex boy prat.
Although I did quite enjoy that Scandalous show you did. However if you hadn't have insulted the Spanish comedy god that is Andrew Sachs then Paxman and the Daily Mail wouldn't have heard of you, you'd still have your radio show and you wouldn't be beating up paparazzi in the States for trying to take photos up your missus's skirt. The fact she dresses like a porn star when promoting her latest offering must have escaped your attention.

  • I just don't get this guy.

He is not a particularly great comedian, he talks like a bi-polar chav and I personally don't think he is even funny. He just shoots off random babble and he talks like a hyper-active kid.

I believe he now lives in LA with his wife Katy Perry.....don't get me started on Katy Perry (I kissed a girl - a dreadful song!)

I'm not being hateful but I just think there is absolutely NO substance to Russell Brand, there is nothing to him. He is famous for being "famous".

    Sorry.

It is just nice to know he has something in common cos he likes Moz and The Smiths as well.Russell Brand i wish you well, and all the best with the Wedding.I'll be reading that Bookie Wookie 2.

  • Russell Brand's bragging about his sex life is immature, embarrassing and is probably an attempt to cover up his homosexuality or impotence! I don't believe that he is in a genuine relationship with fellow famewhore Katy Perry - they will just do anything to be famous and to raise their profile.

Morrissey is class, his rejection of sex (or his refusal to talk about his own sex life) shows what a class act he is. In a world where second rate bearded Mockney comedians feel the need to discuss fruit driven orgies(! how ridiculous!) to make themselves look "cool" and everyone from Mini-Me to Screech from Saved by the Bell has made a sex tape, Moz's rejection of sex is refreshing, sets him apart and, oddly enough, makes him seem even sexier.

Can't stand Brand, he is a one trick pony. Hope his film career dies on its arse. He is about as heterosexual as David Walliams and about as funny.
