Gary Day and Spike T. Smith join New York Dolls in Blackpool

I happened to check out Gaz' Myspace page and he mentioned that he'd playing with the Dolls at Blackpool's Rebellion Festivals this past weekend.

Seems like it was a hit, and Gary looks well. One-time Morrissey drummer Spike T. Smith joined, too.

Wonder if Sylvain's request came about through a Moz recommendation.

Didn't post the picture directly in the forum as it's All Rights Reserved on flickr but you can see it here:

Famous when dead writes:
Quoted from BBC 'Teletext' Entertainment pages:

"Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has written a theme tune for a new Channel 4 sitcom.
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margret stars David Cross as an American office temp who manages to bluff his way into a senior role.
Marr has been a member of both US band Modest Mouse and The
Cribs in recent years.
It is his first TV composition, but he did write some of the soundtrack to the hit film Inception."

Top Five – Concert cancellations - Esquire

Excerpt:

2. Infamously stubborn – we mean, principled – Morrissey, who once cancelled a gig when he found out the venue was a former abattoir, refused to take his world tour to Canada in 2009 in protest of their annual seal hunting season.

Heaven Malone writes:
Tired of not being able to go anywhere in the Chicago area to enjoy The beautiful sounds of The Smiths and Morrissey? Vocalist, Joseph De La Mora and his band, Terraforma, decided to give it a shot in 2008. Originally just for an ICON show with other bands paying tribute to the likes of Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Joy Division. The Chance to emulate the Smiths and Moz was just too addictive and honorable to only do just once. Thus The Handsome Devilz were born. To bring to life the Live sound that was once the Smiths and still is Morrissey. Striving as time passes to Resurrect as many songs as possible from the Catalog of The Smiths and Moz.
