Yes I just heard that. Steve Lamacq sounded very disappointed. He has just confirmed that he has cancelled ALL his promos including Andrew Marr and Radcliffe and Maconie and that Morrissey has flown home. The interview was due to be recorded tomorrow ready for broadcast Friday. He says he will try to find out more. Would love to know the truth behind this-bit will we ever know?

Steve Lamacq has just said the official line which he assumes is from Morrissey's management is that he has ' decided not to promote the release of Bona Drag any further'.

Ronson received Smiths fans death threats - Digital Spy

Mark Ronson has revealed that he received death threats from Smiths fans after covering one of the band's songs.

Speaking to NME Radio, Ronson said that he didn't mind receiving the online threats because they reminded him of how passionate Smiths fans could be.

"People took umbrage with the fact that I was taking these sacred cows of indie music and doing my own versions of them," he explained.

Ronson added: "If Morrissey and Johnny Marr give their consent I can't be worried about what some 16-year-old in his bedroom thinks.

"But I do like the fact that a 16-year-old cares enough to send me a MySpace death threat. As long as he doesn't follow through on it."

Five Nights With Pavement - NPR

A Pavement fan goes to 4 reunion tour shows this year and compares Pavement's hiatus to The Smiths break up. See about half way down first page:

"The Smiths — that's a band that's never getting back together. Morrissey hates those guys, he'd rather die. And he plays Smiths songs in all his shows, so who really needs to see a Smiths reunion tour? Just go see Morrissey, he tours all the time."

Unbroken reference The Smiths

In the light of recent re-issue "controversy", it seems fitting that Unbroken have titled their retrospective/discography release "Re-Issue, Re-Package, Re-Evaluate The Songs."

Tired of not being able to go anywhere in the Chicago area to enjoy The beautiful sounds of The Smiths and Morrissey? Vocalist, Joseph De La Mora and his band, Terraforma, decided to give it a shot in 2008. Originally just for an ICON show with other bands paying tribute to the likes of Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Joy Division. The Chance to emulate the Smiths and Moz was just too addictive and honorable to only do just once. Thus The Handsome Devilz were born. To bring to life the Live sound that was once the Smiths and still is Morrissey. Striving as time passes to Resurrect as many songs as possible from the Catalog of The Smiths and Moz.
