Thank you so much, Fabricio.

It's very interesting news that Morrissey is thinking about creating an official Web site!
Might this also mean he's planning to release music directly to us fans? That would be fantastic.

I was also happy to see he likes Moby. Moby's album "Play" is probably my favorite album since
Air's "Moon Safari." Nothing in the past year has moved me as much. Moby is such a beautiful person.

Gee, what a shock it is to see that the only Dance/Electronic artist that Moz likes is Moby. Hmmmmmm.....do you think that it has anything to do with Moby being a vegetarian! Naaaaahhhh. Can't Be!

What a tosser Morrissey is.

I doubt it's that--Elvis Costello is also a vegetarian, and I haven't seen Moz plugging *his* music. For what it's worth, I've noticed that Moby appeals to a lot of people who don't typically like electronic music.

Morrissey a "radical vegetarian"? He isn't a vegan, and "Meat is Murder" has been around for some time. I wonder if he happens to "suggest" to the good folks at Gucci that they not use fur as he shells out thousands for their clothes (okay, I agree that he has the right to wear what he wants, but he should stick to his values or not preach at all).

I'll bet he listens to Moby, the Electronic, and then shakes his head.

Not that I know much about that end of the spectrum going for Eno and Looper (who will be in town on thurs. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

he *always* complains about lack of support from the media and labels, but can't he count his blessings that he's a zillionaire? not all musicians have it that way. moby's music is tolerable (for dance music), but I like the fact that he's the only nonhypocritical christian I've heard of. is Moz a christian or does he just like crosses? if only he could give up leather and dairy, but we know it will never happen.P

Oh, I hope he'll have an offical site soon.....that'll be very good - as good as Morrissey-Solo :-)

That comment about facism in Europe - now that comment will never get back to England.

Yeah, can you imagine the NME running a cover story "Sorry Morrissey, we were wrong!".....who knows, maybe it would stall declining sales. Then again, perhaps not.

To the person wondering when morrissey will give up dairy and leather... hmm well who knows about dairy... as far as leather is concerned though,at his recent concerts, he'd start it off wearing a black "leather" ensemble... and at one of his shows a while back, the very first thing he said was that it was NOT real leather!...

and to Mrs.Parker who said he should stick to his values or not preach it... if he's not eating animals, and not wearing dead animals on his body, i don't see how he's NOT sticking to his values... to say he's some sort of hypocrite for wearing gucci when they sell fur is absurd... by that rule, no vegetarian or vegan would be able to shop anywhere, for food or clothing, because every mainstream food market sells meat, and most mainstream stores and designers make leather items, even if they don't make fur... So moz is no hypocrite and has every right to be as preachy as he wants to be, and to request that no dead animals be served at his concerts.

Its the first interview that he gives during the latin america leg of the tour i guess, and its marvelous that he finally lost his fear about coming to latin america, there are a lot of fans here, being latin dosent means that you only enjoy Ricky Martinīs music (it really sucks), there are a lot of intelligent people here.

I'm sorry to have come across calling him a hypocrite, that isn't exactly what I meant. But don't you remember the "Interesting Drug" video, in which he hands out the anti-fur pamphlets? Fur is an industry (not a byproduct) and Gucci glamorizes it (but many designers are turning away from fur, so there are choices out there). I am sorry to have brought it up here (I just feel nasty about it) but I'm not the first.

I did enjoy the interview. I think that Morrissey will never need a record label to accomplish what he wants. He is a huge sucess. He could easily go at it on his own...Possibly make up his own label and put out records on his own. He has proven that he doesn't need them to have great sucess with his tour. The record companies should be begging him for his buisness. They would do themselves a great dis-service by passing him up. He is the best.

Mrs. Parker,

I wonder if you think veganism will ever catch on in the mainstream if you point fingers at anyone who isn't as pure as you. Becoming vegetarian and now trying to become vegan has been a very gradual, step-by-step thing for me. I'm supportive of everyone who tries, no matter how far they go. Your high standards seem a bit out of reach for me. I'm wearing canvas Converse sneakers right now. They make leather shoes. Am I a hypocrite? Or is Gucci a special case because they have such an influence on fashion trends and if they say "fur is in" then fur will be in? And then celebrities will wear it and so on? (I've seen a lot more celebs wearing fur these days, unfortunately.) I can see the concern there, but I feel it's counterproductive to point fingers at allies and imply they're hypocrites. We all have to decide wear we draw our lines, and it's not clear at all wear they should be drawn.

NME running a cover story "Sorry Morrissey, we were wrong!" would be nice, but I'd perfer this NME cover story:

"NME Closing Down"

And then all it would be is a bad memory...ah.....

I worked at NME for a few weeks two summers ago and asked a few people there about why Mozzer wasn't ever mentioned, let alone praised. The official reason is, and this is the complete truth, that the editor ( Steve Sutherland) doesn't like him, refuses to believe he isn't racist and will never cover him again while he is editor because "they don't have a working relationship with Morrissey."
There are some Moz fans at NME, but you'd never see them writing about him!
By the way, Crimson, nice to see you again, and I'm not a Liverpudlian!

I find it kind of dissapointing that the only interview he gave during his southamerican tour was this short... and by phone. We have been waiting for him so long, having so many questions about his work and why have he finally decided to include Southamerica in his tour. I know he has some kind of hard time with the european press but he doesn't need to be that defensive about us. I would have loved to read a long conversation between Morrissey and some local ambassador of the music press. Too bad he didnīt meet with anybody really down here (not even fan-clubs). Anyway, thanks for the translation.

hey, what is that crap about the NME?

Did you read their review of the Coachella festival? They made some pretty racist portraits of Mexicans. Made them look like nothing but a bunch of sleazy greaseballers with sluts who wear tackier clothing than Fran Drescher on their arms.

What you are saying is that Morrissey can't be a racist and he can? That's pretty frickin absurd. You tell that zen buddhist who has never made a racist or sexist remark in his entire life that he can go to hell.
