9pm - 3am, $5 cover, 21 & up
Venue: Smithfield (212-475-9997)
115 Essex btw. Rivington & Delancey, NYC
(Essex = Avenue A south of Houston St.)

Thanks to everyone who helped make “Still Ill” on Sept. 4th a huge success. This Valentine’s Day, I’m trying out a bigger venue and some fun new ideas to spice up this biannual party. Of course, I’ll be spinning nonstop Smiths & Morrissey (everything from “Hand In Glove” to the present, including live tracks, unreleased songs, rare versions and more). For the brave ones, I’ll be set up for open-mic Smiths/Moz karaoke. You'll even be able to send personal valentines to any handsome devil or wonderful woman in attendance! Come early for giveaways. Suggestions and comments are always welcome. E-mail me to get on the Transmission mailing list for future special events in NYC.

  • Whats a
    "Transmission mailing list"?

Do you need to be a citizen or have security clearance to get it?

I'd like to be aware of future NYC events. The best way to find out about them, is through this site.

I look forward to the night, best of luck and thanks -

  • Here's a suggestion for someone: How about having a big birthday bash in celebration of Morrissey-Solo's 5th Birthday/Anniversary (February 12th, 2002) and the outstanding job David has done. Having the celebration somewhere in Southern California (such as L.A. or Hollywood) would be a good idea as that is the area where David (not to mention Morrissey) lives, and it's also where Morrissey-Solo began.

  • I'm right in the NYC area. But 21 and over?! BAH! My heart hurts...
But that sounds lovely...I would so be there if I weren't such a wee little shrub at 19...

  • My heart is broken. I had no idea that events like this existed. I just moved to the city in august and have been so busy-- I have just recently begun to search for clubs/places where I could here Smiths music and I can't believe there was actually a tribute night. Does htis happen often?
