Excerpt:

BMG Records have dropped Morrissey. Following the March 2020 release of I AM NOT A DOG ON A CHAIN
(#1 Scotland, #1 Poland, #3 Britain, #3 France, #10 Spain, #13 Germany, #2, #9, #17, #18 U.S.A. - depending
on which official chart you follow), BMG have appointed a new Executive who does not want another Morrissey
album. Instead, the new BMG Executive has announced new plans for 'diversity' within BMG's artist roster, and
all projected BMG Morrissey releases/reissues have been scrapped.

"This news is perfectly in keeping with the relentless galvanic horror of 2020," said Morrissey, "we would be critically insane to expect anything positive."

Morrissey is once again in search of a new label willing to release his music.

"My three albums with BMG have been the best of my career, and I stand by them till death. Recording them has been a pivotal period in my life, and I thank the previous BMG team and everyone involved for that. It's still important to me to do music my own way, and I wouldn't want to be on a label that dictates so specifically how their artists should behave - especially when the word 'talent' is notably never mentioned."

Morrissey's duet with David Bowie is now available on Parlophone via Warner.

"There are too many cases of successful artists languishing at labels who are no longer interested in them." Alistair Norbury, BMG.

Morrissey's Las Vegas residency remains in place for 2021.

Morrissey will record and release another album..
Morrissey will return to the live circuit, whenever this may be ??

Morrissey will continue to be morrissey.... and we will continue to love him....
My goodness, there are some nervous Nelly's on this site.......
All true, but if he waits around for a major record label he’ll have a beard down to his knees.

There can’t be any other way hovis, as we all know....
it’s a major, or nothing.....
He’s sat it out many times before... you just can’t see this changing what so ever....
Could be a while for the next offering , but there will be one

I fear he will sit it out. But I might have a free bus pass by the time it happens, never mind Morrissey.

Some will continue to love him. Others will greet the news with disdain & start looking forward to the day that deal ends, so all this can be rehashed.

I hope he comes out with some more comments to piss them all off. Maybe make Tommy Robinson the next cover star, that would be a good start. And Nigel Farage as a warm up man for his gigs.

That’ll have BMG running back to him, with a blank cheque book and their tail between their legs.

I read he wanted to be a playwright so maybe he should try a temporary niche in gig theatre.

A rehearsal room would be good for him. Socialising with a purpose. Lots of actors to tell everyone you're a sweetheart. Might get a decent boyfriend who could run an office. Everyone would understand his jokes... gin. 🍸

Wait, so he wasn't DROPPED, his deal merely concluded? As per the agreement between the two parties?

Oh, Steven.

Oh, Steven.
Yes, he had a three-album deal. Once that deal was concluded BMG did not offer him a new one. It might have been expected that they would have done if everything had gone satisfactorily - clearly it did not from BMG's point of view. And this is not a 'by mutual agreement' situation either; he was dropped.

I was at that Bradford show and it's 100% true that you were drunk, shouting, and inflicting yourself on other fans telling them you "run morrissey-solo". I later saw you fall over inside the pub and have to be helped up by two men, it was the most pathetic sight I'd ever witnessed.
You can't even lie properly.

Dead parrot even!!!

Morrissey is the epitome of the true Irish Rebel. Unlike Jay M, lol, who would sell his..........., .........for a kind word from the BBC, the brave stay real. How I admire authenticity

Leave means leave. Go! Go! We don't need you. X

It's totally wtf.

It would be obviously not terminal - but you either have to get the social media under control or create a structure around his madness & that's your problem.

Till he dies. Then he's in the clear.

Once you can reveal the extent of the homophobia that shaped his press without fear of upsetting him then it's over. How can they possibly claim Finsbury is a sign of his racism when it's in print that he was being verbally abused for his sexuality & no journalist thought that was A Bad Thing? Kill Finsbury, you've killed the lot.
Morrissey was flirting with fascism before Madstock. He miscalculated the commercial attraction of racial and sectarian bigotry then. He pretended he wasn't racist until he thought it was acceptable. What a tit!
