Forgot to restart the stopwatch. I'd say this is from 6 or 7 minutes more work. I'm liking it, though I know it's fledgling.

At $80 a painting, when it takes me so long to make one as this piece, I'll be making less than minimum wage!

This one will be $120, unless I really like the person who's interested in purchasing it.

I just need to lighten that dark patch at the nape of her neck, and it'll be fine. Tomorrow maybe. She looks hideous, but the dog and canary look great.

I guess it was a mistake to use 3 different reference photos for the subject, plus imagination. I like the dog painting in the background so much though. I wonder if I'll try to do it as a real portrait.

Anyone have a preference for what color of pencil to use to sketch for a watercolor painting?
