Simon Goddards "Songs That Saved Your Life" is very good.
Johnny Rogans "Severed Alliance" is well-researched, but at times his portrayal of Morrissey is needlessly unsympathetic.

Both of these books were probably Morrissey's greatest lyrical inspiration during his Smiths days. Anyone listening for any time at all has heard of these books. I'd guess that many people here own copies.
