That should have been a fiery opening then. Not at all that I don't love the songs in the sets he's been playing but I've been hoping to hear how certain songs would sound in his actual voice. I'd love to go to youtube and find that "Picadilly Palare", "Malajusted", or "Seasick, Yet Still Docked" have been "recycled" by some of these shows. In "Who Put The M in Manchester", he plays a bunch of surprise songs, from many different phases of his career. This time he's only sticking with a fixed set. For commercial reasons, pressure he gets from producers? And what about that nice cover he's made, "The Song From Under The Floorboards" or the fantastic "If You Don't Like Me, Don't Look At Me"?!

If that is a fake set list...

Gonna Need Someone On Your Side was an opener for so many shows, and a good one, but I find it unlikely he's gone back to it.

If it's untrue it is both a victory for the prick that devotes so much time to wrtiting wrong setlists on this site but also a defeat for those of us, like me, who pay attention and want to know every new detail.

It's a sad limbo to be in. It's a sad state to be in! I always thought that Far Off Places was the perfect opener for this tour. If he's warming up for the two UK dates with this rearrangment then I'm worried most of the kids wont even own Your Arsenal. But then, why should the UK festival dates get special attention over any of the others? I'm being presumptious.

Oh for the love of God if he opened with Handsome Devil....

If this set list is false the author can enjoy the fact they've provked a reaction, but fear the fact everyone wants to stab them repeatedly.

If it is true.... Odd opening. Great song, but... so are the so many others.

I personally don't put This Charming Man in my top 10 Smiths songs, but does he not play it out of principal? Is he saving it for the last dance in 2034?

For you information, Morrissey seemed very happy and the band was in a good mood as well.

Morrissey wasn't very talkative but the things he did say was very appriciated.

"We're falling in love with Sweden so much that...we're in love."

"We've opened our own steaming hot sauna...and you're in it! so just take your clothes off and live."

"Are you there Julia? Oh, I think we need oxygene-tubes..."

"so you love life. It will end."

He let the audience introduce the band, he mimed the names but didn't say anything, since he knew that we "know it by heart" anyway...

He used three shirt since it was so extremly hot and he throw one of them to the audience.

Two people tried to get on stage, but didn't make it.

                        Excellent show! (Score:0)
My overall impression is that the show was excellent. You could tell that they have had some time of because they seemed to be eager to play (for one and a half hour!) and Morrissey was very talkative.

When I first heard about these concerts I was surprised to hear that he was going to Karlstad, which is a rather small town (80,000 inhabitants) in the middle of Sweden, and play two shows! However, the good thing with this is that he played in a smaller venue with a capacity for 1,800 people. This could be compared to his latest Stockholm show at Hovet with a capacity for 8,000 people.

The pre-show tape was the same as usual, e.g. Sundown Playboys, The Pretenders version of “Everyday Is Like Sunday” (which led to some sing-a-long from the audience) and Tommy Körbergs “Judy min vän”.

Morrissey came on stage and started of with “Panic” and not “You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side”. I tried to get the set list after the show but they were all gone. It did not include any news but the songs came in a slightly different order. Why haven’t those who got the set list posted it on this website yet? It should be obligatory to do so!

There were of course some lyrics alterations. In “At Last I Am Born” he changed the line “vulgarians know” to “vegetarians know”, in “Ganglord” he changed the line “what they really need to say is get yourself back to the ghetto” to something like “what they really want to do is shoot you” with a strong emphasis on shoot you. He also changed the last lines in “On The Streets I Ran” where he sings “take people from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania…” to “take Boz, Matt, Gary, Jesse, Mike – just spare me”.

After some of the first songs he asked why he had not received any Plopp (the Swedish chocolate he mentioned at Hovet) yet. Moments later there were four or five Plopps on stage. As noted in the previous contribution he mentioned that he said that he was losing his voice and as a way to compensate this for the second show they were all going to be naked on stage at the second show. He also said that they were going to have very exotic dancers in the background that he would not sing but mime “just like those other... "ARTISTS", Kylie Minogue and... Madonna…”.

Since I am not going to the second concert I hope this will be the best of the two ... Otherwise I will not forgive myself for going home after the first one.
