I carried my heart in my hand

Sunday afternoon, I got home and showered off the bike ride, I mentioned to my wife we should head out for early dinner. I thought of a place called Seal Rock Inn near sutro baths in SF. I don't know why it popped into my head but we ate there about 15 years ago. I also knew there was some walking trails nearby.

We ended up walking the lands end trail and going to mile rock beach. It was a great late afternoon. Cool but not cold, sunny and hazed with just a touch of coastal fog. The kids played and explored. My wife took a comfortable seat and sat mesmerized by the beauty. My heart, like the camera in my hand, started snapping, collecting and pulling in the beauty that surrounded me. When the heart has done extreme suffering, at your own hands no less, you owe it to yourself, to pay it back and reward it for still beating.
