Time works it's connections to bring people closer or if unrecognized, drift people apart. I have a desire to experience my children as they are. Sometimes, by luck perhaps, we are completely aligned and it reminds me how much I like them as little growing people. I started documenting tidbits of life because of this blog, I don't keep a diary so this is as close as it gets I guess.
Late August 2015
I was in the garage working on my bikes, playing music that was softening the day as I fiddled with my toys. My daughter comes into the garage and says, what is this song? It was Beruit's song, Sante Fe from the album, The Rip Tide. I told her I purchased it on our iTunes so I downloaded the album to her phone. Music is really personal and I was a little stoked though that she would like a song I liked.

My daughter shows me this pic from time magazine and says, this is the guy from that album you gave me. I already had this new album and told her I really liked it too and told her she should download that one as well.
A few weeks later she told me she loves the Beruit song "As Needed". She is a multi-instrumentalists, so I can see what drew her inside this one.

My son and I were doing some of the heavy lifting for an upcoming adventure, so we were out picking up supplies. The Beruit song "So Allowed" came on while we were driving. My son started humming along, and he said, I like this song. Amused, I asked him how he knew the song. He said he can see the albums I buy on his phone and he downloads them. Well, I like this song too I told him. As I drove, a feeling of deep connection washes over me, I smile and just enjoy the song as he hums along.
These are little things, but over time, they are very important for me to have.
