09:07 AM - Silent Day
|
|
I feel like posting a journal entry, but honestly, everything I want to say, I'd rather not.
I will scratch the surface, though, and say that I am very pleased that Morrissey is coming to Greenville, SC to play - otherwise, I would have missed out on this part of the tour. I was at the House of Blues show on July 21 at Myrtle Beach, and he blew my mind. After a solid 10 years of not seeing Morrissey play live, I was in a state of Moz Bliss. Moz Bliss?? Maybe I should take that on as an A.K.A? Anyway, he was very chatty at the show and I remember thinking how wonderful it was to hear him talk between songs. I remember back in the day when he really didn't say much at all. The back drop was a huge plus for me as I've been a Dean fan longer than I've been a Morrissey fan, and the JD dress rehearsal video on the screen before the show put me in tears before Morrissey even took the stage...so I was already an emotional wreck! I also finally saw Julia as well at that show. I didn't speak to her because...well, I didn't know what to say? One girl asked Julia if she could have her picture taken with her. Julia agreed and flashed this huge smile. I remember that smile VERY well. I've read about Julia for a long time now, but I never really knew what she looked like or, well, anything about her at all. She seems very nice and was open to a lot of the people around her. I, like a lot of people (I guess), used to feel a twist in my stomach when she got so much attention from Morrissey, but I don't anymore. I admire her. She has the means to follow him around and she knows him on some level and that's great. If I could afford to do what she does, I'd probably do it, too. After all, he did pretty much get me through my adolescence and my early twenties as well. Now that I'm OLDER...ha...I can identify with him on a new level. So, who am I to judge Julia?
It would be really awesome for ME if Morrissey played "Hand In Glove" at the Greenville, SC show, but I know it won't happen. The set list is near perfection anyway, so I shouldn't complain. Years ago when I joined this site I couldn't think of a screen name, so I picked my favorite Smiths song. That was...6 or 7 years ago??? Wow...where did all the time go?
Today, as anyone who has a calender knows, is September 30th...for James Dean fans that day means something. So, if you're a JD fan take a moment of silence sometime today or tonight to remember the one who paved the way for so many great people...including the one we celebrate here.

10:37 PM - Whao...Stop him!

I was sitting here surfing the net with Conan O'Brien playing in the background when some guy (Mark Ronson - or something) comes on singing "Stop Me..." and then ends the song with a Diana Ross lyric.
Um...

12:12 PM - Poor Morrissey
|
|
I'm sorry to hear that Morrissey is sick. Let's all send out warm, positive, energy to Morrissey for a speedy recovery.
I'm supposed to see him on the 21st, but if he isn't better I will not be angry. Throat infections can be very serious. I just want him to take care and get well.

06:32 PM - This song is dear to me...
|
|
To be lost in the forest To be cut adrift You've been trying to reach me You bought me a book To be lost in the forest To be cut adrift I've been paid I've been paid
Don't get offended If I seem absent minded Just keep telling me facts And keep making me smile Don't get offended If I seem absent minded I get tongue-tied Baby, you've got to be more discerning I never know what's good for me Baby, you've got to be more demanding I will be yours
I'll pay for you anytime
And you told me you wanted to eat up my sadness Well jump right in shorty, you can gorge away You told me you wanted to eat up my sadness (Jump right)
Baby, you've got to be more discerning I never know what's good for me Baby, you've got to be more demanding
What are you holding out for? What's always in the way? Why so damn absent minded? Why so scared of romance?
This modern love breaks me This modern love wastes me
Do you wanna come over and kill some time? Throw your arms around me

01:19 AM - Well, why not?
|
|
1) Are your parents married or divorced? Divorced, thankfully.
2) Vegetarian? Boca is my middle name.
3) Heaven? Or Las Vegas? Why not Planet Blue?
4) Come close to dying? Yes. Emotionally, anyway.
5) What jewelry do you wear 24/7? Either a Saint Joan of Arc medallion or a John Lennon "Imagine" pendant around my neck.
6) Are you eating? At this very moment?? No.
7) Do you eat the stems of broccoli? I hate broccoli.
8) Wear makeup? Little powder here and there.
9) Were you usually the dumper or the dumpee in your past? I have issues, so my door is usually ajar for a little while before it is shut, sealed, and bolted with a blinking sign that says "GO AWAY". Having said that, however, I met my match this last go around and...well...his sign was bigger and brighter with the words "GO AWAY FOREVER" blinking ferociously at me. Scary stuff.
10) Would you ever have plastic surgery? If it's necessary.
11) What do you wear to bed? I actually wear pj's.
12) Have you ever done anything illegal? I don't have the time.
13) Can you roll your tongue? Yes.
14) Pluck your eyebrows? I wax my eyebrows, normally.
15) What kind of watch(es) do you wear? It's a skeleton, so you can see right through it. I have another, more traditional, watch I wear every now and then.
16) Abortion? I'm pro-life - God's truth.
17) Hair color? What, the REAL color? I haven't a clue.
18) Future child(s) name? I don't have the time.
19) Do you snore? I don't think so.
20) If you could go anywhere in the world on a vacation, where? Greece. I'd like to visit the ancient ruins. Feel the walls...that sort of thing.
21) Do you sleep with stuffed animals? No. I sleep with two fluffy black cats - very much alive.
22) If you won the lottery, what would you do? One thing I'd like to do (other than naturally helping people in need of medical attention and housing, food, education, etc., etc.)is: open feral hotels all around the country. A type of shelter where animals can stay until they're adopted - or even if they're never adopted. A safe haven. 24 hour vet on board. Cozy beds. Plenty of food and water. Protected land to roam around on...I'm sure to some people the idea is silly, but it's really something I wish I could do. I'm sure places like this exist already, but not enough of them. I wish we could do away with "animal shelters" as we know them.
23) Gold or silver? White Gold / Silver. I don't like Yellow Gold.
24) Hamburger or hot dog? Boca, baby.
25) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you choose? Oh my god...um...smarties?
26) Beach, city, or country? I like them all. I like to work in the city, but live on a beach. I'd love to have horses in the country, tho...hmmm...
27) Who was the last person you touched? You mean real human contact???
28) Where do you eat? at home - wherever it is convenient.
29) When's the last time you cried? Lately when I feel the need to cry, I can't. It's a very odd feeling.
30) Have you loved somebody so much it makes you cry? Oh yes. Just..right now, I can't.
31) Would you ever go out dressed like the opposite sex? I don't think I would. Not that I have anything against it. I just don't feel the need to, I suppose.
32) Ever been involved with the police? No and I hope it stays that way.
33) Believe in Santa? ho ho ho
34) Do you talk in your sleep? Er..next question...
35) Beach or pool? Beach
36) Can you cross your eyes? I'm sure of it, but I'm not gonna try 'cause with my luck - they'll stay that way.
37) What's your favorite song at the moment? I Don't Mind If You Forget Me - need I list the artist?
38) Window seat or aisle? I used to be window, but I think I'm aisle now. Funny how little things like that change over time.
39) Ever met any famous bands/singers? Not really. I said hello to Ray Charles once at an airport.
40) Do you feel that you've ever had a truly successful relationship? NO WAY.
41) Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it? I'm multi-talented.
42) Ricki Lake or Oprah Winfrey? Ricki Lake - she was a scream in Cry Baby.
43) Would you ever admit to having done plastic surgery of any kind if confronted? Sure.
44) How long does your shower last? I take long showers.
45) Do you drive stick? haha - yes. 5 speed.
46) Cake or ice cream? I can have both.
47) Self-conscious? Overly.
48)What time do you get up? I set the alarm for 8am. However, my cat, on the other hand, wakes me up every day between 6-7:30am.

50) When was your first crush? 3rd grade?
51) Where do you wish you were? With someone I love dearly.

54)Longest relationship? 7 years, I think.
55) Last gift you received? We take so much for granted.
56) Last sport you played? Life.
57). Things you spend a lot of money on? fuel for my car, supplies for work, and yes, education.
58) Where do you live? In my own little world.
59) High school you attended: Oh, you mean, the best years of my life? BLAH.
60) Last wedding attended: It certainly wasn't mine...
61) Favorite fast food restaurant: Ew.
62) Where do you work: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
63) Can you cook? If I must.
64) Most hated food: Broccoli
65) Can you sing? Next question...
66) Last concert attended: Sadly not Morrissey.

08:08 PM - The harsh truth of the camera eye
|
|
We had to get headshots today for the play. I wasn't pleased - at all - how my pictures turned out. I can't do anything about it, though. He'll pick the best one in his opinion, he said, (in his opinion??) for the playbill. My head is killing me and I've got WAY too much makeup on right now from those pictures. I love the art of applying makeup - to other people. I don't like it on me, however. I don't like the feel of it. Even if it's just mineral makeup - it still feels heavy to me.
The guy I mentioned before is moving back home in two weeks, so there really isn't any point in getting to know him better. I mean...I could, I guess. He invited me last week one evening to meet him and some of the other people from the theatre for dinner after the play, but I didn't go. Nope...I didn't go. This was, of course, after he told me he was moving back home. Home for him is something like 1000 miles away from here. The news made me feel really sad and I lost the enthusiastic drive I had to get to know him better. This was, I'm quite aware, the wrong thing to do. But I really didn't know what else to do. It was best for me not to go, actually, because I don't hide my feelings that well and it would have been quite obvious that something was bothering me. Yes, better to go home than to sit around a table while every ten minutes someone's asking, "Are you okay? You look upset". I hate that.
Well, I need to go wash off this mask and try to get some rest. I could use a drink, acutally. But all I've got in the fridge is Diet Mountain Dew. At least it's caffein free, right? :*(
There is another world There is a better world Well, there must be... There must be...
