The title on the cover reads "I've always assumed there's a dark river flowing beneath my fans' desires".

Guest editor Jake Arnott interviews Meltdown curator Moz.

      That particular answer ...
Here it's the whole question/answer scenario.

Jake to Moz "DO YOU THINK THAT YOUR CATHOLIC
'SENSIBILITY' - A DREADFUL WORD TO USE, BUT I HAVE- HAS COMMUNICATED ITSELF TO YOUR MEXICAN FANBASE? DO YOU THINK THEY GET THAT?"

Moz "They must do or they wouldn't be around, but I cease to question what they see or what they hear or what they feel from me. I'm just delighted that they feel something, but I don't really know what it is. I assume it's the romantic heart and his spinning of emotions. It's unexpected and I never assume that people like me because of the way I look. I've always assumed that there has to be a something else, some dark river flowing beneath their desire."

Ps I will be glad to explain to him in person what I feel, see or hear....anytime. L x

  • the time out cover and interview have the best moz pics of the whole current press junket. typically witty location, under the sign of the 'english martyrs club' somewhere in old east lahndon.

also moz eschews his hilarious recent selection of bingo master blazers and billowing retirement slacks in favour of cool dark jacket & jeans. v sharp

a very good interview - quite interesting, although the only new revelation was Morrissey saying "yes" he *might* move back to England. He said " a part of me has always been dark... there's no place for that in the glittering lights of LA"

He said in spite of denying his love affair with London, it's hitting him in the face again now he's back.

  • The interviewer is intelligent and asks good questions. Morrissey respects that and answers in kind.
