  • Just got back home and I am still in awe at his performance tonight. It was first time I saw him perform How soon is now and Rubber ring--so I was very emotional needless to say. He was dressed in his priest outfit for most of the show, the lads were in Jobriath tees. Morrissey was especially chatty tonight, witty and political as always. I know I am going to get the setlist incorrect, but here is a sampling:

    How Soon is Now
First of the Gang to Die
    November Spawned a Monster
Don't make fun of Daddy's Voice
    Munich Air Disaster
    Bigmouth Strikes Again
    Cover song (Patti Smith?)
    Rubber Ring
    Irish Blood English Heart
    Now my Heart is Full
    I like you
The World is full of crashing bores
    I have forgiven Jesus
Subway train into Everyday is like Sunday
    Let me kiss you
Last Night I dreamt that somebody loved me
There is a light that never goes out

    Good night...

  • I just got back from the show and man was it great. I have to thank some people who helped my friend and I get into the pit then get my friend onto the stage, thank you Monica and Math(yes thats her name) I know I missed others and im sorry but my memory doesnt work to well with names. Monica and her friend where nice enough to give us there wrist bands so we could get into the pit with a couple songs left. We got right up to the front and once he started playing Last Night all of a sudden I see my friend come flying over me and landing half on the stage half off. She was imedatly surounded by security but she grabed onto one of the cords on the stage and didnt let go. Morrissey came over and helped her up on the stage and she got to hug him and give him a kiss. He then came over to me and shook my hand before he left the stage. Math and Monica thank you agin for making a goodnight 100times better.

  • Nancy was pretty good. no duet with morrisey, unfortunately. Although he did say he was "indebted to her for 700 years" for opening. Some rude people were yelling "loser" during her performance. That's fucked up. He mentioned the fact that j had been to all the shows on the tour, to which she responded something to the effect of "it has totally been worth it." What else....

...in response to all the people trying to make contact with him, he said something like "the funny thing is, if you were to see me tomorrow at Ralphs (a supermarket chain, for those of you in the U.K.)you would just walk past me." He said that Never Played Symphonies was a song about the "death of the heart" (?). he played a cover of a patti smith song. He kept grabing his balls during the line "...why did you stick me in self deprecating bones and skin." He also rubbed the shirts he threw into the crowd on his chest and on his balls (that's no joke). He said that "the presidency of terrorism and illiteracy" will continue under W. He also said that you know the world is full of crashing bores when things are done opposite to what the majority wants, or something like that. can;t remember much else. oh yeah I got to shake morrissey's hand during the third or fourth song (i have a long reach). wish all of the moz militia could have been here. good night.

If you want to get an idea of what it was like, put on the Will Never Marry video. Only this was chaotic.
    2. Jesse was pulled into the crowd. Guitar and all.
#. Gave the mike to Julia for about 20 seconds.
    3. MOZ stood, mitutes, bare-chested, singing on stage!
    4. He threw 3 shirts.People were frighting, pulling hair, knawing (no kidding) just to get a piece.*After the show I found one of his buttons, and the great clean up crew gave me, well threw at me, Morrissey's water bottle. Idrank the rest on the way home.

  • This was the best show I've seen from our Moz. And I've been to many since '87. I just got back from seeing him in London. That was great too, but nothing has compared to tonight.

I just wanted to clarify, that SPM said that he felt that the "Right" people definitely "Lost" this election. And he believes so not because of hatred, but because of fear. "I fear we are in a lot of trouble."

He also said that he new that the world is full of crashing bores, mainly because when the majority votes, the majority is always "Wrong".

I hope that when I see him again I could have somewhere near the same experience, because tonight he was ________. No words to descibe this, I still have tears in my eyes.

Ussually he does about and hour and 10 minutes tops but tonight had THREE encores. I was just stricken with dumb luck for this one because I decided at the last minute to go- and got a ticket FRONT ROW Orchestra on the left about 5 feet from the stage. I got eye contact with Boz and he grinned- and believe it or not Moz himself looked right at me a few times. Pretty cool.

  • It was definately one of the best shows I have ever seen. Morrissey was so beautiful. Can you belive he did 3 encores? I think he was really feeling the energy of the crowd. We were all in such rapture. He grapsed my hand for what seemed like forever during "Everyday is Like Sunday." I feel so lucky!!! I felt like time had stopped. We as a crowd were so lucky -- can U believe he did "Redondo Beach." Me and the girls I was was standing with were like the only ones who knew the song. One of Patti Smith's best -- I think she wrote it for her sister when she had left Patti all alone, briefly. The longing and lonliness of the song suited Morrissey's show perfectly and I was espeically intoxicated by the bands' rendition of it. It sounded just like the record. Speaking of the band ~ this is the closest I've ever been to the stage, thus I was really able to get into their performances too. The keyboard guy is really good!! Very hot too! I wonder, does he like boys? Other highlights: "Daddy's Voice" "Munchi Air" "Rubber Ring" and definately the triumverate encore of "Let Me Kiss You" "Last Night I Dreamt" and "There Is A Light" -- Morrissey -- I love you so much!! Your power on stage is unsurpassed -- the way you can bring such a huge a crowd together in musical abandon -- it is always nothing short of a spiritual experience. We will always love you and please always come back to SoCal. When everyone forgets about the pathetic pop stars who are big now, there will still always be you -- towering so high above ~ an artist who speaks from his heart and touches so many. Thank You and I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friends were luckier than I was - two of them got on stage, and the was the proud owner of the sign that read "Last Night I Dreamnt Morrissey loved me" I have to thank the most amazing girls ever - Nathalie and Nydia (spelling?) they let me get on the rail and boosted me up to let him see the shirt. • This is a broad question, but are there any spoken (or unspoken of) parties after the final show in Vegas? I hope there's something, because my pal and I would love to continue the Morrisseyness of the night. I'd love to get together with fans after the show to gush about it; doing this makes is less anticlimactic!

  • The best things about tonight were:

    3 encores

The comment where he said, "The only thing better than Mexicans in Mexico is Mexicans in Los Angeles" was greeted rapturously where I was standing.

The shirt throwing antics were amusing and the set-list was great again.

    Patti Smith's cover was good.

Daddy's Voice back in the set-list.

I met a very handsome American called Brad who showed great hospitality. Thanks Brad!

Oh and the sound was crappy - but it didn't matter because Moz and the band were fearsome.

It took a tattooed boy from Birkenhead
  • things not yet mentioned:

-moz singing 'steven patrick' in place of some lyrics during 'now my heart is full'

-calling the microphone 'his best friend, his only friend'

-telling the crowd to 'shut up' or something similar while he was introducing julia.

so much more, it was an amazing experience. i wish i had pit tickets for tonight as well!!

  • That was the best Morrissey show ever...He was stunning, as usual, and was extremely talkative. Thank God somebody had the balls to finally give Jonesy's Jukebox the credit it deserves. KROQ is worthless. Steve Jones plays the best music this town has seen in years, and tons of Morrissey and the Smiths...If you don't listen then you are insane... See you all in Vegas...

  • This was my 2nd Morrissey show and the backdrop was kickass. My 1st was at the Wiltern a few months ago. But by all means, the most wonderful show was The Smiths in 1984 at the Hollywood Paladium, I was a young lad at 21.

  • But Moz sneaked a couple of lines of "The More You Ignore, The Closer I Get" towards the end of "My Heart is Full".

    Did anyone else notice that?
