  • OK, just a quick review of last nights show. Moz came on stage at 10.15 just as the other two stages were finishing, so a pretty sparce crowd swelled about 15 minutes before he came on. He greeted the crowd with 'Bon Soir' before starting Panic. I felt the gig had a real end of term feel to and Moz and the band seemed in really good spirits, and in my opinion the re worked set-list worked perfectly as it kept the gig up tempo right the way through which hasn't been the case through all of this tour. Jesse had a camcorder thing which he filmed the crowd with at the end. I can't speak for the back of the crowd but from the barrier there were alot of fans realy into the show, a mix of British and several other nationalities.
The band were wearing the green 'playboy T shirts and white trousers. It was evident they were on some kind of time limit and towards the end were really going some to get all the songs in. As the set list had been re-worked you really weren't sure what he was going to play and what he wasn't, this was evident when he played NMHIF at the end, a magic tune to end a great year of touring for myself and it lead to a great sing along in the first few rows. I've done V Festival, Dublin now Paris and I enjoyed this show as much as any of them.
I'll add more if I think of it when I get back...

    Some Moz comments;

Some years ago we played a gig in the dis-united States, when I walked on stage I said hello Paris, the next day I was slated in the press for not knowing where I was....I think we can safely say Irony was lost on the city of Buffalo.

We have been told to hurry up as the policemen want to go to bed....probably with each other.

After introducing the band he said and I am Sacha Disturbed.

Again we have been told to finish by Policeman with big gun that goes bang, bang, bang.

So if Paris is the city of love.....where is mine.

Before FOTGTD he said, this is another single of ours which WASN'T a hit in France.

    You might get tired.

Buffalos, oh yeh, to share the wit, the Man said, in Buffalo, some place in the Us not far from the country that mustn't be toured, if you say "hi Paris", they cut your musicians in pieces and roast them over a campfire, and Dolly Parton complains. Something like that.

Point of that anecdote? None probably. Pass the time?

  • Hi there,

For those interested, Morrissey said in the first part of the concert that he's Jean Gabin... or rather Jean Gabeeen, after which the crowd made him correct his pronounciation and he said that he's a bit slow to understand...

Later asked Julia if she's doing OK, and got a "yes" response from the crowd. Mozz then said something like "well, I was actually asking Julia, but that's OK"

Thought it was a very good concert, an opinion that seemed to be shared by most people around me, including non-Morrissey fans.
Was at the Zenith 2 years ago, and found the concert on Friday better: better sound, better voice, and well... better shape *g* Morrissey made a quite self-confident impression, was pretty talkative and as witty as ever (the Buffallo story is indeed hilarious). Thought the setlist was also really good... a major improvement on the beginning of the tour. Now My Heart Is Full was a real treat!
Only negative point was that he sang the first couple of songs in front of a rather sparse crowd, as he started before the Raconteurs had finished their gig on another stage.

So, anyone who's got pics of that unforgettable evening???

  • Undoubtly, Mozz was in a great form on Friday: moves, voice, mood, humor (ah Buffalo...)and so human.
The removed set list was preety well chosen for this kind of festival even if I would ave liked to hear Life is a Pigsty but he had a deadline with the end of the day...the policemen!!!
The lads of the band were at "the diapason" of the artist of course and they seemed to spend very good time together.
I was just close to his "Julia" and really she is a very kind woman.

Please please come back in Paris!!!!

  • At the beginnig of the concert, Moz said about 2 lines of a song or a poem, and let us finish...The problem is that nobody found the good end of the sentence, and the people who submitted a proposition were thanked by a severe "WRONG"!
Can someone tell we what was the sentence about? Thanks, I will die being less stupid, maybe.
