  • Best show Ive ever seen...15th time seeing him.

Set list posted is accurate and his voice is better than SC and he was like a new man...

    Some notes:

    Came out with:
    I live to give....

    Others:
We have a Durham too. But this one is much nicer
I left something in Myrtle Beach (before LMKY) and I've told you myself..so there
That was a song, I Keep Mine Hidden...from 11 centuries ago. Then went on to recite the first three lines for the crowd slowly.
He mentioned that... These are still years of refusal...
He said...Now that you have such a nice new president there is nothing to complain about....yet!
He called Boz a man of many selves....
He mentioned that writing the new songs is good because it keeps a fire in the belly rather than one upstairs in the elevator on the 22nd floor (I guess he meant the head???)
and it is better to write songs than to work at (he pronounced) MACDonalds...
    Very energetic...

You must hear I am OK By Myself live....it's a new greatest hit.

He snuck out around the back and left people standing by the buses for over an hour....oh well

Nice to meet some new Moz friends...B and B...you were very nice, very nice....

I don't have much to post because my head is spinning right now. My homo transcriptionist is having a difficult time making out the letters haphazardly typed on my Smith Selectric. All I can remember is that I was amazed that Morrissey did not cancel! Did it really happen, or will I later wake up in a puddle of my own sick and think, “What a wild dream!”?

The sound was EXCELLENT. Moz threw out two shirts – first one pink, 2nd black. Some kids got onstage and hugged Morrissey – best was near the beginning during PARIS. M wore the same denims with the frayed front pockets (right hip) as he had in Murder Beach.

After the Loop, Morrissey said to me, “Surely you have something shocking to say...” and started to hand me the mic. Oh, not so fast! He was back to his old games and snatching the mic back when I reached for it. I became surly, folded my arms, and refused to gratify him. So he said, “Be nice.” I retorted, “No, YOU be nice!” And harking back to a wicked reference from Myrtle Beach 2007, he asked, “Why should I?” But then he surrendered the mic and I got to say what was so shocking: “We're so glad you're HERE!”(that the concert wasn't canceled) I screeched into the mic like a giddy schoolgirl. Meanwhile, I gave him the 2009 Goodlooking Man About Town calendar. He pulled a wry face when he caught sight of the inverted YOUR ARSE'NALL piccy, and I yelled to him, “It's your best side.”

Speaking of shocking, during Crashing Bores, Morrissey gave the middle finger right in the face of someone who was on stage left (house right). He didn't look like he was joking. Also quite embarrassing, Moz pulled his squinchy face at me (on house left) and growled at the beginning of Crashing Whores; I returned the favour. He sang, “You must be wondering how / The boy next door turned out” and pointed at me. I had Morrissey's Greatest Tits out, so I finished the verse with “He grew tits!” And then he still kept pointing at me while singing, “But don't stare, SHE's still there.” I planted my face into my hands to hide.

Morrissey said that maybe tonight was just a normal night in Durham for the locals, but for him, the concert was the closest thing to S-E-X. I yelled, “We can help get you closer,” causing concert mates to giggle.

Morrissey made some minor slips (vocally and bodily) or near misses with some lyrics, but he was in much better form tonight. He is back!

  • He also played "How Can Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel" after "Grow Up."

All in all a really good show. His voice was strong. About 12 people made it onto the stage, which was very low and had a small "step" about halfway up it.

Red Cortez was quite good -- one of the better opening bands for Moz in a long time.

Anyone got any evidence in the guise of video/pics -- Id be forever grateful.

And a great big "Bollocks to you" goes to the two wankers by front of stage who tried to stop me climbing up.

  • It was my first show being a recent fan, so I guess I can't complain about a set list, though I do wish there were more older songs. I was worried, given the reports from Myrtle Beach, about the quality of the show, but he was in great spirits and in exceptional voice in my opinion. Most of the new tunes sound great live, especially I'm OK By Myself. Particularly, I think the Irish Blood in the encore was a fantastic performance. About the stage invaders, not to rain on your parades since I'm sure it was fun to do so, but I think that caused him to cut the encores early judging by the roadies' reactions who signaled to cut the show and flip the lights. I could be wrong, though, but that's my guess as to why it was only one encore. I would venture to say he would've played All You Need Is Me had he extended it, I was surprised there were only 7 songs from the new album played. Great show, though, and hopefully he enjoyed the crowd (was pretty full in there) and the acoustics and atmosphere and will come back to DPAC.

But - as always - there will be people complaining....he should've played more Smiths, less Smiths, more from the new album, less from the new album, etc.

His band sounded great and he seemed to be enthusiastic for the most part. thought his voice was better than expected, especially given the horror that was myrtle beach.
