  • If Moz is still in a grumpy mood then Killarney better hope that Paul McCartney tagged along to save the night. Yes, I'm still bitter about Moz's performance (aka baby tantrum) at Coachella.

    The band were brilliant.

    Band were awesome.

Moz was feeling chatty and gave the mic to a few member of the audience at one stage.

I never liked HWIN until tonight, what a performance!!!

    INEC is a great venue.

Was lookin forward to seasick yet still docked as id never seen it live. He just didnt have the heart in that one tho.

Arrived late and missed TCM so was a bit gutted at that.

Havent been as into Moz over the past few years (have all the tunes of course)but tonight really struck a cord with me. His material over the past few years is top notch.

Oh & 1 last thing 'How can anyone possibly know how I feel' live is great. No one in audience knew It. I felt proud I did.

    Rock on....

so once again - these are not in order and just the songs I remember.

It was a great concert - the venue was not full at all and extremely easy to get a barrier spot. He seemed a little unwilling to give out handshakes, like he was teasing (?)but some got them and yes, he did get pulled from the stage.
After the show I went around to the door and got to see Morrissey - I asked him about coming to Australia and he gave a smile & a shrug. I got to shake his hand & took a photo of him getting on the bus.

  • For beautiful Dutch model and actress J and others who have kindly asked for it:

Despite my initial tepid impression of Doll & the Kicks from their myspaz page, I could not help bopping along to several of their catchy choons tonight. Doll & the Kicks were fairly well-received, and the singer thanked the warm Killarney audience and Morrissey. But she made a grand faux-pas by saying how honoured they were to be the support for the beginning of Morrissey's UK tour. Several people shouted that this here was IRELAND, NOT the UK. It would be a theme revisited tonight. She amended it to the “start of the non-US tour”.

The intermission viddies changed slightly. Two out of the three Shocking Blue viddies – Venus and Ink Pot – were dropped and replaced with Sparks' “Lighten Up, Morrissey” (the opening viddy) and something that looked like an old B&W European music variety show of Shirley Bassey singing To Give the Reason I Live.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjThBjHaRVY
Could not tell because the sound of the crew checking the instruments overwhelmed the viddy sound. The rest are the same from recent US and other previous tours.

Morrissey came out and greeted Killarney, coyly asking if he could “be rash” and say...”Good evening” to Killarney!

He and th'Lads were wearing short-sleeved white shirts with smart, pointy collars. No ties. Mozzer's shirt was much nicer with a subtle pattern weave and sheen. Th'Lads were in some nicely tailored trousers that looked like a cross between rough, dark indigo jeans and slacks. Moz was back in the frayed Levi's that had fraying at the right hip pocket from early on in the US tour. These denims are too large for him; he needs to get a smaller, more form-fitting size. Moz showed off a crucifix with beads on his hairy, pneumatic chest. Moz was wearing either a black or midnight navy-black cardigan with sleek ribbing. He kept it on far too long, but removed it in preparation for the shirt stripping and toss that occurs during Lemme Snog Ya. Morrissey then changed into a florid fuschia shirt with swirly floral-paisley like patterns. I don't recall if this fuschia shirt was tossed. I don't think so. Final shirt during the encore was an interlinking square/circle design of red, white, and black previously seen in Albuquerque. I don't think he tossed this one either.

Moz felt up his own chest and belly for emphasis throughout the set and at one point squeezed a delicious Moz moob.

No stage invasions at all tonight, but it seemed fairly raucous, especially at the end. Moz sang lyrics mischievously altered from “Swingin' on a Star” during FOTGTD and shook several hands. During ASK or perhaps an earlier song, some middle-aged lout with a greying buzzcut had forced his way to the front earlier and grabbed hold of Moz for an overzealous handshake and nearly succeeded into pulling the Moz into the moat! Stage security hauled Moz back onstage and moat security attempted to eject the overeager geezer, but eventually they just gave up.

Prefacing BORES, Moz sarcastically quipped that he had been accepted to Britain's Got Talent and that this was the song's subject. Again, the proud Irish crowd took quick offense, interpreting this to mean that Moz was confusing them with the UK. One particularly loud critic from stage left mouthed off, “THIS IS IRELAND, NOT THE UK!” And the Moz roared back with a booming bass, “I KNOW!” Th'Lads began to play BORES, but Moz stopped them and asked the vocal man, “What's your point?” providing the mic so he could explain. Instead of explaining his remark, the man went on about how much of a fan he's been and something e

I like to see a few Smiths songs (missed 2 great ones) but overall I thought the set was lacking some great Morrissey songs. I don't know much of the new album.

I think most of the comments here are a bit too kind but I suppose most of the subscribers are not likely to be too critical?

  • Me and my girlfriend are having holiday in Ireland. We are from Istanbul. It was a great opportunity for us to see Morrissey. I have been a fan for 6 years and now my girlfriend likes his music very much too. Yesterday it was a great show, Morrissey was very good form.
There is one thing that's disturbing me though. When we went to our hotel after the show my GF was acted very "turned on". Much more than usual. And when we were making love she screamed "Oh Morrissey". I dont know, I feel jealous and pissed. I dont want to talk to her about this. I think this is over.

Moz picked it up, and looked at it intently, the concentration went for a second or two, and he started to sing "Would You Like To Swing On A Star". Great moment, very funny, and Ken was so happy he was jumping up and down punching the air. Nice one.
