No need for accusing someone who has association with EMI, no one is stalking Morrissey.
The person who reported the story in the forums has some friends in showbiz.
One of them told him because he's a Morrissey fan.

signed with EMI [reisue, remaster,rhino]
a new deal, which is IMNSHO the real reason,
royalties and his backcataloque which he had
with EMI can be done via laywers/papers
Me thinks they had an first meeting about a possible deal, which should be great if it comes to final deal, his best was till 1994 under EMI
YARQ on Santuary, and YOR on Polydor [my legal
CD bought in , as usual, in the Neetherlands]
also included as IMNSHO best albums
well all are OK though ROTT hope will ever grab me like Southpaw did after years
EMI would be a safe and good label to continue,
and MUTE [bought by EMI] to release album/single/dvd on

Besides, you don't get a signing bonus when you record and release your own material. Of course, as we have seen recently, collecting, and coveting money seems to be one of Morrissey's passions.
