Tales From The Dark writes:
The touring British Art Show 6, which occupies seven art galleries across Manchester from January 28th to April 2nd, features a new exhibit by Phil Collins called El Mundo no Escuchara which is basically a film of a bunch of Colombian Smiths fans often wearing strange looking masks singing Karaoke versions of songs from The World Won't Listen.

I expect it to win the Turner Prize some time soon!

I got a chance to see this at the Amsterdam Modern Art Museum this past summer. It's a continuous looping sequence of videos which you can listen to by putting on a pair of headphones hanging from the ceiling. Most of the videos are of Bogota Smiths fans lipsyncing along to Smiths classics and dancing against a sort of tropical wallpaper backdrop. There are a few sequences with fans shuffling through their Smiths collection one item at a time, showing each item to the camera. I found the whole thing very endearing and actually entertaining to watch. Also included are a couple of posters that were used to recruit people in Bogota. They look like old style political action posters and would make a nice postcard.
