Morrissey: Video Exclusive - mydigiguide.com

Time: 23:05 to 23:10 (5 minutes long).
When: Thursday 23rd February on Channel 4

The brand new video for the single You Have Killed Me features Morrissey as an entrant in the 1970 Eurovision Contest. Along with vintage clothing, the video was filmed with 1970s analogue video cameras. Director Bucky Fukumoto is responsible for a number of Morrissey's infamous videos, including Irish Blood, English Heart and I Have Forgiven Jesus.

  • Just glad it's not premiered on that horrible Popworld again.

  • sounds like a good concept for the video, rather than just singing into a camera from a bland studio background of some sort!some imagination to the video at last!

  • I think that many of the pictures recently have shown Morrissey buying into this whole flashback 70's vibe. His choice of producer for this album certainly fits that concept as well. I am looking forward to the video. Hope it is like Irish Blood English Heart - an awesome video for an awesome song. I really did not like the video for I have Forgiven Jesus, but then again I thought the song sucked too. Guess we will have to see

  • Finally, a promo with a theme, rather than a half-arsed live performance shot in a shed.

I love the idea of him doing a eurovision performance - let's hope he tries his *very best* to look serious and sincere as he sings ".. and nothing entered me"

  • Looks like this video might just be the most entertaining one he's done lately. It's got to be better than IHFJ with the band walking down the road. I'll give him 8 points for now and might increase that to the full 12 assuming Greece give Cyprus the full 12 too! Only Europeans will get that one!! I hope Terry Wogan features too.

  • November spawned the monster is still the best music video ever made. The song is good one too.

    Hope this comes close.

  • Bride of Bucky? (Score:1, Informative)

Okay, is Bucky Fukumoto a stage name for Roman Coppola? I remember the photos of Roman directing IBEH along with his A/V Club team and it made clear that he was the director even though Bucky is usually credited. Look at Passions Just Like Mine's I-can-have-both tactic:

    "Irish Blood English Heart
Directed by Bucky Fukumoto. Morrissey and band performing in a room among blasé looking extras. Directed by Roman Coppola. The video was included on the limited CD+DVD set of "You Are The Quarry" and as a multimedia file on the Deluxe edition of the same album. It was also added as a bonus feature to the "Who Put The M In Manchester" live DVD."

Do is it Sophia's older brother or what? If this video was shot in Italy as the rumors suggest, the Coppola boy as done some work there previously as a 2nd unit director for Wes Anderson's "The Life Aquatic".

    Anyone?

  • Well I wasn't but I wanted to get your attention! Now that I have I think it's brilliant that his new "video" actually has a little theme to it! Brilliant! Unfortunately I think it will be just Morrissey singing as usual much like a live performance, but just wearing flares!!! Gone are the days of "Suedehead" this video was the best video he has ever done! It actually had a plot!!! Ouija Board was okay though. You've got to keep people interested! I can't watch the same old videos all the time. With Morrissey you're just glad he did a "video". I will watch it but only once, just to see. I would rather listen to the song on CD and wait for the tour!

Great video: Morrissey visiting his boyfriend's house and finding him with somebody else and the commotion it causes! You could have Morrissey throwing a vase of flowers through the window scaring a cat below! Morrissey could storm out and drive off and the boyfriend in hot pursuit. They both pull up in a layby and Morrissey goes to talk to him, the boyfriend explains and then Morrissey opens his car door and out jump to savage roweillers who at Morrissey's command rip him to pieces!!! Cool huh! That would get everyone going on Top Of The Pops!!!

  • Any Moz song could be a them for such great videos... for example, can you imagine a video for "Alsatian cousin", "The end of the family line" or "Lifeguard sleeping..."?, there would be so interesting... I Don't care if his videos are few or anything, because every song, every word of him send my mind to the moment, to the moon, or even far away... What can I say?
