Tonight I went to the Metro Club on Oxford Street to witness a night of Dogbox Records' bands, including The Sweethearts, Swimmer One, Luxembourg and headliners the Boyfriends.
To the shock and awe of everyone present, Moz walks in towards the end of Swimmer One's set hangs round the back of the club for 10 minutes before walking out past the stage before Luxembourg come on. Apparently he re-appeared around the back exit. All rather strange! Presumably, he didn't get tickets for Sparks who were playing the Forum!

Morrissey did indeed turn up during Swimmer One's final song, and rather stole their thunder, which was the only sad by-product of his arrival.
He did leave before we came on by the front door, but then came through the fire exit, accompanied by venue security, and someone else who may have been his own.
He certainly caught most of our set, and most of the boyfriends also. He also took a copy of our last single, although i'm the first to admit this was thrust upon him by our daring and quick thinking merchndise girl for the night, Idit.
so yeah, we played, Morrissey turned up, and we all managed to remember all of our songs despite his presence!
It's all terribly exciting, even if i'm a little sad at the fact he was obviously there for the boyfriends and not us, and that his watching us will never be reported - honestly, who wouldn't be?
never mind, i'm not bitter, and am terribly proud of The Boyfriends for scoring such high brow potential endorsement. As you can imagine, being a lifelong Smiths fan, the fact that Morrissey has a CD single featuring songs I co-wrote is enough to make me beam like an idiot for the time being.
apologies for crashing your forum in this way, and for some appalling grammar above. It's all a bit exciting though, y'know?!

I've always wondered what I would do if someone like Morrissey showed up at one of my gigs. I'd like to think that I would hit one out of the park. More likely, I would make eye contact and forget why I was holding a guitar.
