  • Wonderful. I thought "In The Future When All's Well" was a better single than "The Youngest Was The Most Loved" anyway. Although, after hearing the Youngest... on single, I like it more.

What do you think "Christian Dior" is gonna be about? Perhaps how Morrissey has turned his back on his American fans? Bad move. America is a lot of the world. You can't avoid us. The U.K. will turn on you again...they always do...

Oh well, we will always have The Palms....

  • From 1984 and right up to and including "You Have Killed Me", I have always bought every Smiths/Moz record in the first week of release (despite the drop in quality of his music).

Having endured his appalling behaviour onstage at 2 of the gigs at his recent UK tour, I've had enough. I haven't been able to bring myself to listen to ROTT ever since, and there was no way I was gonna buy any cd single with "Ganglord" on it. It would bring back those terrible memories from April. No wonder his career is floundering again.

  • There's no point continuing to release Anything from ROTT. It's a Lousy cd. Never has there been a more pompus and bombastic release in decades. A bloated, over wrought hodge-podge of...Crap.

  • i have been a fan of moz since 1987. i just think he is a great artist i love his music. I visit his supposed fan site to wish him all the best for his new single. F**k off with your negative comments, I have come to praise Moz not to bury him. 4 years ago we all wanted new songs new tours and new albums all have been delivered thankfully to a very high standard. the smiths are deads boys get over it. "if you dont like him then dont look at him" and dont come on here posting very negative comments because it may be another 10 years before you see another album. Show some appreciation "fans"

Funny tho; R2 is Uk's most listened to but airplay doesan't seem to have much of an impact on sales.
He really needs Virgins and XfM to start playing it.

  • Assuming the cone does not contain a soy based ice cream (and sadly, I fear it does not), this sleeve is a tragedy, an affront to everything Morrissey purports to believe in. Morrissey's career-long campaigning for animal rights just took a serious blow. His integrity took a serious blow, as well. Anyone informed in the slightest knows that the dairy industry is as bad as the meat industry. Although I seriously doubt that Morrissey would come forward to explain himself on this one, perhaps some pressure from PETA might be in order.

    Shame on Morrissey.

  • (a song, in the manner of Mr Morrissey)

When ice's melting you don't know where to stand
The trite truth is that you fear
    you'll drown in sugar
    if you're nice and sincere.

    Pretending you're someone else, however
never took anyone anywhere near the freezer.
When you pretend you are the other
And write as if you knew who you were...

Now it's not warm, you know less every hour
But you still want to get inside
    that fridge

And you are still moved, I bet
when you look at a bridge
And your Mars bar you still desperately want to share
with someone who'd truly truly care
    etc.

and self loathing isn't your favourite flavour
    at least not this second
    today you'll try
    a little Candour...
and you'll speak from the heart
    yours, that is
(for half a minute or so)
(you'll really try to let yourself go.)

    Long ago you decided
    you'd always lick
    your hate stick
    yourself.

Because when there is no more ice you can't swim
when it's nice and easy and cool and jolly
on a beach where there's no tsunami
and no one dies, wants to kill their daddy or mummy
or puts sand in sandwiches, you have to invent tragedy

And that's what has me in stitches

    Look at the 99 fake
who can not be a nice ice cream man
Oh at least yesterday you froze so
Only today, no, or maybe a minute ago?

    He amuses children so

    Like an old lollipop lady...
    always confused... and contrary
    licks licks licks
    hurts
    regrets
    hurts again

and then on a full belly asks Jesse
" And for that one, can you find some music?
And for that one, can you find some music?"

    and lick lick lick.
like an old man in Limerick.

when ice cream is your only friend,
summer never really has an end.

    the future is a
    long long
    hot and bothered dream
    about ice cream...
    ice cream
    ice cream...
    about ice cream.
until you wake up and s
    hout
And your nose looks like a Brussels
    sprout...

And your ice cream is sticky sand
And it's never the day before
And it's always the day after

And today has lost all flavour

And you're no longer in favour.

So Savour the Saviour of the day
Lick away. We all approve of gelati
    and self parody
You are entirely free to say what you want to say
and do what you wanna do
Only as long as you know
it was your own tongue all along

    your own refreshing
    ice cream dream.

Only room for one man in this big ice cream van.

And when the van doesn't stop for anybody it must have an excellent reason.

Like, for instance, now, it's not the season...

When ice cream is your only friend
summer never really has an end.
