The USA show Psych episode "DIS-LODGED" which premiered on 1 February 2008 referenced Morrissey in a very obscure manner... here is the clip.

Just now watching the endless Super Bowl segments and on the computer with the TV on in the room I started to hear the Musical intro to "How Soon Is Now?" on a segment about the history of the 49ers and it played all during the segment in the background.

How is that managed? Does Morrissey allow it? or was it part of the settlement with the former Smiths. I remember it being used in a Mazda commercial years ago also.

  • you hear a couple phrases and you right away think it's a morrissey reference. obviously it's just a coincidence. Morrissey is not the world.

    I'm just kidding. He is.

  • I actually randomly saw the first episode of this show. Very low budget...I'm talking Canadian TV low budget.

The writer of this episode i assume is a fan.

  • I mean, all judgements about selling out with music and all that jazz aside - who the hell decided that How Soon Is Now would even make appropiate background music for anything on the superbowl? It's Moz a favorite with one of the players or something? It seems so out of context there to me.

  • They whore their music out to any and every advert/TV show.

  • Was it not used in a Nissan (maybe Maxima?) commercial...?

Or WAS it a Mazda commercial? (if so, funny - "Moz"da)

Does anyone remember with any... certainty?

  • There are Morrissey fans all over the world...
    trying to spread the message...
on the surface playing their role in society...
but underneath they´re preparing to take over...
    manipulating people...
you think you can ignore them...
    but they´re getting closer constantly...
    putting a little sentence here...
a little quotation where it´s not expected...
slowly but surely making Morrissey a central part of your minds´ landscape...
they will be at the bar...
    telling you you´ve killed them...
    & that they´re miserable now...
that you must be taken in hand...
at the same time they´ll say you´re a work of art...
& whatever happens, they love you...
they will see you in far-off places...
they will ask you to call them by all means...
to come on to their house...
& to let them put their arms around you...
but only if you´re really interested...
    Beware! They hold more grudges...
    than you will ever know...
& if it´s the last thing they´ll ever do: they´re gonna get you!...
has this ever happened to you?...
    it has...
if you´ve read this whole comment, it has...
    & you´re lost.

    - but so is everybody! ;-)
