    Who is going Where?

    The mouth of Port.

Morrissey Central "DAILY MAIL" (May 12, 2023)

It should be obvious not to read the Daily Mail, anyway.

Morrissey A-Z: "In the Future When All's Well"

Doesn’t sound anything like Oasis to me.

    Morrissey A-Z: "I'm Not Sorry"

One of my favourite tracks on the album. I think the lyrics are clever at being somewhat revealing, yet ultimately elusive...it’s an intriguing balance.

Fiona Dodwell: "Five Morrissey Albums That Deserve Reappraisal" (December 3, 2020)

It always stands out to me when Morrissey uses that word/name, because it is my own. Of course, Glen is mentioned in ‘Death At One’s Elbow’...well Glenn, anyway.

Fiona Dodwell: "Five Morrissey Albums That Deserve Reappraisal" (December 3, 2020)

If there’s a cover version on the track listing then it doesn’t feel like a Morrissey/Smiths album proper.

Fiona Dodwell: "Five Morrissey Albums That Deserve Reappraisal" (December 3, 2020)

Is the ‘Swords’ album cover an allusion to King Arthur pulling Excalibur out of the ground? If so, it’s his arm that is the sword and it looks as though it’s stuck. What does it all mean?

'My Hurling Days are Done' question

I realised straight after I posted that I’d written something stupid. I hoped no one would notice...should have edited.

'My Hurling Days are Done' question

Yes, I suppose you’re right. It is interesting that Morrissey has crossed his penchant for innuendos with musings on mortality. The two don’t normally sit together in the same song.

'My Hurling Days are Done' question

I wonder what the connection is. It’s not an obvious thematic link.

...and what about The Funky Alfonzo?

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

Whereas I see Action is my middle name as a sarcastic condemnation of someone’s (Morrissey’s) inability to chase after love or desire, out of ineptitude.

Sounds like something from Strangeways.....which is the ultimate praise.

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

I see this song as a possible retort from a listener of Morrissey’s work. His constant griping about loneliness and doom. If you’re gonna sing then sing...don’t go on about it...if you’re gonna kill yourself just do it....etc.

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

I am so pleased with this album. Especially after Low in High school, which had its moments but was under par and his worst album since Kill Uncle. I really think this is his strongest and most consistent work since Vauxhall and I. Love is on it’s way out is the only weak song in my view, but...
