Morrissey Central & SER YT: “Once Upon A Woman’s Body” (October 30, 2021)

How many more songs are on this “List of the Lost” in vaults waiting to see the light?

    Morrissey A-Z: "You've Had Her"

I think the “Certain People I know” b-sides were recorded separately and after “Your Arsenal”. IIRC Mick Ronson wasn’t well around the time of “Jack The Ripper”? Someone on here will know more or have a better memory.

    Morrissey A-Z: "You've Had Her"

Thanks to all those involved. This has given me something interesting to look forward to every morning. As for the song it’s gentle enough without necessarily going anywhere.

Morrissey A-Z: "You're the One for Me, Fatty"

The NME criticised this when it was released for sounding like the Jam as if that’s a bad thing. Chiming guitars, Buddy Holly inflected vocals and a decent drum sound all add to the fun.

Morrissey A-Z: "You're Gonna Need Someone on Your Side"

The sound of those guitars! Play very loud and enjoy.

Morrissey A-Z: "(The) Youngest Was the Most Loved"

Love the sample at the start takes me back to being in Rome. The outro reminds me of “Bigmouth Strikes Again” for some reason.
  8. Southport Grandma

Morrissey A-Z: "You Were Good in Your Time"

Nice song, not a particular favourite and sounds out of place on that album.
  9. Southport Grandma

Morrissey A-Z: "You Should Have Been Nice to Me"

I can’t quite get to grips with the rhythm of this one once the drums kick in. Should at least have been deployed as a “Boy Racer” b-side.
  10. Southport Grandma

Morrissey A-Z: "You Must Please Remember"

Sounds like a sturdy B-side to me.
  11. Southport Grandma

    Morrissey A-Z: "You Know I Couldn't Last"

The guitars sound like something Mick Ronson would play circa “Ziggy Stardust”.
  12. Southport Grandma

Morrissey A-Z: "You Have Killed Me"

Love this; guttural guitars and Italian personalities as short hand for emotional turmoil culminating in that swell of feedback.
  13. Southport Grandma

Morrissey A-Z: "Yes, I Am Blind"

Not a favourite of mine but I can see why others like it.
  14. Southport Grandma

Morrissey A-Z: "World Peace Is None of Your Business"

The intro is a bit of a mess but I like the song once it gets going.
